Once we got back from Cabo, summer seemed to fly by. I think for Ryan, there was only about 2.5 weeks left at that point. We went that first weekend back to the Correa's lakehouse. We packed in a ton of boat rides in a mere 24 hours.
B liked to spend his time at the front of the boat with Lucia, most of the time.
love these boys
How cute is he? Loving his fratty, windblown hair.
Check out this 'do!
Ryan wanted to perfect his kneeboarding skills. He even wanted to try his hand at some skills. He didn't tell us before going out, but apparently he wanted to try a 360 without knowing the first thing about it. So, it ended with him letting go, face first in the water. Ha!
You can kind of see Lucia talking to B right here. We asked them later what they were talking about, and all either of them could say was how much fun it was.
A little romantic sunset cruise!
Cheering on their brother.
Wanting to go faster!
"Should we stop yet?!"
Nah.....
Then, Charlie decided he wanted to give it a shot.
The next day, B decided he was going to kneeboard without any adults, no if, ands, or buts about it. Wes got him placed on the board for take off. Then, we just did circles around and around so we wouldn't lose Wes!
He did awesome!
The only part we had not quite discussed with him beforehand was how to let go and how we would come get him, etc. So that really creeped him out being all alone waiting for someone to swim out to him. Poor planning on our part, obviously!
Here's a video of Ryan giving it a go on the kneeboard.
Charlie also wanted to give it a shot. Wes just hung onto the board behind him. Unfortunately, since we didn't go quite as fast, the board never fully got out of the water, so a lot of water ended up in his face and mouth. He wasn't a huge fan.
B and Manuel decided to ride together, and it was hilarious. He wanted to keep going faster and faster. They were getting a little hangtime on the turns.
We headed home Sunday afternoon, and everyone passed out on the ride, including myself. Wes has some not so flattering pics of me drooling :)
Charlie has been such a little sneak lately with my tea from Chick-fil-a. It's become a game to him. If I leave it unattended for more than 2 seconds, he's swiped it up and comes running over to me to show off what he's gotten away with.
We've snuck in a few more trips to Typhoon Texas this past month, to actually make use out of our season passes we bought. Prior to mid-August, we had been once all summer. Since then, I think we have now gone maybe 4 other times, thank goodness! Wes and I even got in a day to ourselves when the boys spent the night with GiGi. I think we logged in about 20 rides in less than two hours. IT was so much fun!!
All of the boys absolutely love the kiddie play area. There is a ton of stuff to do and slides for all ages. Some of them are actually pretty fast and intense even for me and Wes!
Charlie can do this slide over and over again, unassisted. He's a typhoon pro!
I don't think I have mentioned in previous posts, or maybe I have, who knows, but Ryan has become obsessed with puzzles. He's gotten so good at them, it's very impressive. I have also been loving doing them with him. I think we must have knocked out at least ten 500 piece puzzles this summer. He's now graduated to 750-1000 piece puzzles, like the one below. They have completely taken over our dining room!
Wes also taught Ryan how to play Chess a few weeks ago. We thought it would maybe take him a while to catch on, but I think after about 2-3 hours, he had it all figured out. He even plays on an app on his iPad, too! He asks Wes to play almost every night.
Here we are soaking up some of the last days of summer with The Secret Life of Pets.
This has become a daily routine for Charlie. He loves to arrange the Magna Tiles in all sorts of shapes and configurations. There is a method to his madness, for sure. I'm just not sure what that is.
We recently had a really neat trampoline park open up in Katy called Altitude. It's so much fun for everyone, myself included!
Don't be fooled, this trapeze feels a lot higher than it looks. I tried it myself and it was pretty fun (except when I face planted into the foam blocks).
B was even brave enough to try it and loved it!
Fun with the Turner crew!
They tried a hurricane simulator where winds said it was up to 80 mph, but I'm a little skeptical. They did come out freezing cold, though!
They both wanted to play, but neither wanted to fall off. So, they stood there staring at each other!
Apparently, my mom and I had watched the same video on Facebook about the Skittles experiment because when Ryan went to spend the night at CoCo and Poppy's they did it and she sent me a pic. Well, I had planned to do it that evening with B since he had to stay home and thought it would be something fun for him to do. So, we traded pics and compared notes! You be the judge as to which is best!!! I think I had put ours a lot closer together which made for more colors.
Yami, our nanny, had downloaded SnapChat recently, and the boys are obsessed with taking pics and videos of themselves. The two cutest puppies I've ever seen!
Wes' birthday was this past month, so of course we had to celebrate and let the boys sing to him!
Love this one right here!
It was definitely a packed last month of summer, but I think all of the boys were ready to start school when it came time. Next up, our first day of school recap!
