Great Wolf 2016

For our vacation with the boys this year, we decided to take them to Great Wolf Lodge in Grapevine. We got to talking one day with the Correas and they said they wanted to go to, so we made it happen. Going with another family definitely made things easier and more enjoyable for us, as well as the kids! We started off the week by spending the night in Conroe at their lakehouse. The kids had a blast, as always.

We got up the next morning and went out for a boat ride and some water skiing/wakeboarding before heading out on our road trip. We made a quick stop to Chick-fil-a and were then on the road. I think we had barely made it to I-45 before this happened....

We had to force B to take a nap at some point, and I'm pretty sure it lasted all of 20 minutes. The kid just loves being in the car, looking around, and mainly watching Mickey and Daniel Tiger on his iPad. We finally made it up to our room close to 5pm on Tuesday, and the kids were stoked for their separate bedroom. They were running around, checking everything out. It was super cute to watch.

I think the bunk beds were the biggest hit; they kept getting on and off and all of a sudden, I caught them doing this, unprovoked!

Love their spirit and fun personalities!
We quickly unpacked, each of them having to have their own drawer to put their clothes in. Then, they found the wolf ears!!
I think this may have been one of the first times ever I wasn't having to coax them in to taking pictures. B posed like this all on his own!
Ryan and B weren't really looking at the camera, but Charlie looked just too cute right here!
Once we all got ready, we headed down to the pool for an evening swim. This yellow slide was probably the favorite by all 4 of the younger little ones, but Ryan would partake in it some, too.
After one time of taking Charlie up there, he did it on his own the rest of the trip. He would wade through the water, climb the stairs, and choose which of the two slides he wanted to go down.
He had a blast....
....even when he wiped out! It didn't seem to phase him one bit.
B preferred the head first approach.

A little family sliding
It was great having so many adults because two of us could take Ryan and Lucia (B wasn't quite tall enough, nor did he have any desire to ride the more intense slides) to all of the tube slides in the park. There were a few that were pretty scary, too. The adults were having a blast getting to ride them (probably more fun than the kids). Ryan wasn't too wild about them, but with some bribing, we could get him to do about 4-5 a day.

We hadn't planned much for dinner the first night, so we were stuck with the buffet as our only real option. Now I remember why I am not a huge fan!!! The kids didn't seem to mind though, especially when it came to dessert!

After a somewhat rough night with Charlie sleeping, we were up and at'em for the park to open at 9am! We had the pack n play in the same little room with the boys, and seeing as it was the first time for them to all 3 sleep in the same space, it was a little too much for Charlie to handle. He was so excited, he didn't fall asleep until about 10:20 and then proceeded to wake up about 5 times during the night. The other two nights were better, he definitely fell asleep more quickly, but somehow ended up in our bed around 5 am :(
We started the morning with more yellow sliding!

Then, Charlie found the blue slide! It looked more fun, but was slow as molasses, so many times he would get stuck on it. One time he ended up on his back, upside down like a turtle on its' back. It really scared him!
Family group shot! We spent a little of each afternoon at the outdoor part. About 80% of the park is indoors, which is nice for the kids, but we enjoyed experiencing the outside part once it wasn't quite as hot during the day. Another great part of having the two families together, was that during nap times in the afternoon, the adults could take turns having some kid-free time. The first afternoon, Nancy and I went down and did some adult sliding for about an hour and then lounged by the pool! It was so nice :)

This was somehow the best shot of the kids we got the whole week, and it still wasn't that great!!

The following two nights, we had reservations at their main restaurant which was sooo much better! I put them in their sweet outfits GiGi had made them, and they looked too precious not to take a few pictures!!

I put the wolf ears on Charlie, and he wasn't too happy!!
This boy sure does love his daddy!
Pretty excited about his lemonade
After dinner, we headed to the main lobby for their Jammie Dance party and story time. I got some pretty cute videos of them dancing!
And here's on from the other night. Bradley really impressed me with his moves this trip. He has more rhythm than I give him credit for! I loved watching Charlie run around to the music, too. Ryan would sneak off to do his hand motions and sing-a-long when we weren't watching.

Charlie really bonded with Nancy this trip and was just all about her!! It was super cute!
After story time, we went to the ice cream shop and took them back up to our rooms to enjoy.

Somehow, I think they also ended up with an Oreo to top off the night!
Seriously, looking at these two feels like I am looking at twins separated by 4 years!
Lucia had told us how she wanted to call our room at some point, so then Ryan and B would keep going to the phone, picking it up and would say "Hello, Lucia, is that you!?"
Here's the beginning of the day on Thursday. They started off with some water gun fights on the jet skis!

We spent the day sliding, playing, getting water dumped on us, in the wave pool and the not-so lazy river, and after lunch headed up for naps so the guys could have some kidless time! When Charlie woke up from his nap, I got some cuddles in!
Before heading to the outdoor pool for the afternoon, I took the older boys down to the art studio to pick out a craft to paint. They both painted some magnets!
They took their painting pretty seriously! These little two by two magnets took about 30 minutes to paint just perfectly!

They found this tree in the back of the room they wanted to take a picture in.
And a close up!
After dinner that evening, we headed for round 2 of the dance party. We opted to not stay for story time this go round because Bradley was terrified of the wolf who walked around in costume. He literally spent the entire 20 minutes the night before with his head buried in Wes' chest.
Charlie and Sienna taking a break, think they were a little worn out.
Charlie decided to practice some of his yoga moves.
After the dance party, we headed to the arcade. The kids had a blast, and so did the adults, too!

We finished off the evening with a Merry go Round ride.

Friday morning, after yet another rough night of sleep, I wasn't feeling well. Turns out, it would end up being a 10 day sinus infection!! So, Wes took the boys down to the water park while I packed us up. Before heading out, Ryan and I went to pick out souvenirs for the boys. He finally found the wolf when Bradley wasn't around, so he wanted to take a quick pic with him!
We then loaded up the car, picked up some lunch, and headed home. Our trip ended much like it started, with some really sleepy and worn out little boys (and parents, too!)
This kid has lashes for days....
The boys still are talking about how much fun it was, and when we go back next year what they want to do, etc. I think we all had a blast and were equally as worn out by the end of the week!
