Weekend Update

We've had a busy past few days preparing for Christmas and Ryan's arrival. The baby furniture came in this past week, so we went to pick it up and then I sat around and watched Wes put it together. All in all, it wasn't too much work since two of the three pieces were already put together, but we still managed to spend a good 3 hours unpacking it and setting it up, it made a huge mess. Now that the furniture is in, I can start to decorate the room and hang stuff up! The theme is Pirates and surprisingly, there is a ton of Pirate stuff out there for nurseries :) Here are some pics of the furniture - we will update more once its complete and the rocker comes in.

We also finished decorating the house and getting the Christmas lights put up. With the weather being so gross and damp lately, Wes wasn't able to put the lights up outside since the roof was so wet. Considering how much he hates heights, I consider hanging the Christmas lights each year a huge feat. Here he is in action, my very own Clark Griswold...

Today, I am 24 weeks and feeling much better than I was over the past few weeks. We had a few hiccups over the Thanksgiving break, full of outpatient procedures, a trip to the Hospital during the A&M football game after Thanksgiving dinner, and a few days of bed rest, but hopefully that is all behind us and the little wiggler will stay put a few more months. He is moving a ton now, so much I can see my stomach rolling as he squirms about. Wes can feel him kick now, which has been a lot of fun for him. I am getting bigger by the hour, or so it feels, you can be the judge.

Now, we just need to get moving on our Christmas shopping!!!

Let it SNOW!!!

Well Houston just recorded the earliest snow in history for our city, which of course means life in the city comes to a halt. We had a whole 1/2 inch of snow, so I definitely had to take advantage of it and get some pictures for Ryan's first snow! Wes is hunting for the weekend, so I came over to my parent's house and took some pictures in the backyard. Here is a pic of me and Ryan at almost 23 weeks.

We also went out and bought Truman a little elf outfit, so we took this opportunity to have a photoshoot with him as well. He was a little unsure of the whole thing, but let us take lots of pics of him!

Hope everyone was able to enjoy the snow day!

5 down, 4 to go!

We've reached the 5 month mark, and I am now really starting to feel some of the effects of pregnancy! I never knew what heartburn actually felt like until a few days ago, and it is not fun :) I also seem to be growing by the hour, but it's nice to know our lil one is growing too! I have started feeling him move a lot more now as well.

We went to the doctor last week for our anatomy scan, and he looked perfectly healthy, which we were very relieved to hear. He measured 10 inches long and weighed about 1 pound! He was kicking and moving and making fists all over the place; it was a lot of fun to watch. The technician said he was measuring about 1 week ahead, but they are still keeping the due date at April 4 (which I just learned this week, that is Easter this upcoming year!!). I am attaching some pics of the ultrasound below.

Here are a few pics of my growing stomach, for those of you I don't get to see as often :)

At 20 weeks

At 21 weeks - seems like a huge difference to me (this is also the color of the nursery)

We have finally decided on a name for the little man. He will be named after Wes, which will be Wesley Ryan Mock, Jr. but he will go by Ryan.

In other news, we have been working on some home renovations. We just recently had most of our floors replaced from the old vinyl tiles dated back to the 1960's, to wood and ceramic tile. We also had the nursery painted blue, so now we can actually start planning it and filling it up! Here are some pics of the house projects!

BEFORE (this was before we moved in, we did make changes between then and now!)

We're looking forward to the Thanksgiving break and spending time with our families and friends (and probably eating a lot as well). Hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving!

We're having a BOY!!!!

Wes and I went to the doctor on Monday, and found out we will be having a little baby boy! We were absolutely thrilled for a few reasons. One, because now I can start planning and shopping with a gender in mind, which I have been dying to do by the way. Two, Wes may have a potential little Jr. running around. And Three, most importantly, the doctor said everything looked great and he appears to be healthy! We will go back in a few weeks for the full anatomy scan, so hopefully we'll get to see him up close and personal. Other than that, I have been feeling okay, still getting sick from time to time (not sure when this will end), but am looking forward to the upcoming months!

Here is the ultrasound pic from our 12 week appointment. The pictures from this week were all a little too blurry. Hopefully, he will cooperate for his next photo shoot.

On a side note, I am attempting to learn all about the blogging world, so I am sure there will be more updates to come. I will try and post pics and updates often (assuming we have anything exciting to write about!!), so definitely check back with us!!
