Lately, Ryan will just say things that leaves us in stitches. Most of it makes no sense or has no real meaning, but it's pretty funny. He just finds the oddest things to become fixated on, and then that is all he can think/talk about. For instance....
*We pulled out the Fisher Price Little People Noah's Ark. For no reason at all, he is now obsessed with Noah or as he calls him, Nona. He wants to carry him around all the time, pretend to brush hair, hew ants him sitting on his high chair tray when he eats, he is just always asking about his whereabouts.
*Body parts. I have mentioned before, Ryan has always been intrigued with the not so common body parts, ie. kneecap. For awhile now, he loves to point out and asks to see this mole I have on the inside of my arm. He likes to just scream out MOOOOOLLLLE really long and loud, but then always asks to see my armpit afterwards. Apparently they go together like peas and carrots.
*We started implementing time out when he does things that can put himself in danger. We take his chair and turn it toward the wall, make him sit there, facing the wall for 2-3 minutes. Well he has taken a liking to time out, or as he calls his "pass out", and asks for it frequently. When he does something that we get onto him for, he will walk over to the chair, try and turn it around, while repeating "pass out", and sit his happy little bottom right in the chair. We may need to think of a new time out location.
*The word NO. This has been a recent addition to the vocabulary and he likes to use it often. Wes and I keep saying we need to get it on video, but if he doesn't want to do something or doesn't like what you are doing, a very emphatic NO is shouted. It's actually pretty funny right now, but I know it will get old very quickly. I think he enjoys the power that the word holds.
*A few of his more recent words he has come to learn are amusing because they sound nothing like the real word. We give him a little chocolate milk in his regular milk at night to get him to drink milk and and we call it a "treat". I am sure he will be very confused one day. We have been playing dominoes, which he now thinks are his toy. He calls them "badibos". Biscuits are "baguettes". Slide is "hide". Apparently grapes as known as apples to him, don't ask me why. He can see a picture of a grape, a real grape, you name it, it's an apple. This child is going to go to school thinking the sky is red!
I know as the weeks and months go by, it will probably get more and more ridiculous, but it is never a dull moment around here!!

It sounds like Ryan is taking a page out of my parents' book. They thought it would be funny to teach me all my animals wrong since a small child doesn't know any better. I used to think cows were monkeys, dogs were giraffes and cats were elephants :) It makes for a great story later in life!
