Summer, so far....

Lots to catch up on with the blog, so here is a recap from June! We started out the summer by hitting up Typhoon Texas. Unfortunately, it's still the only time we've been. We have just been so busy and out of town so much, it's been hard to find time to go. We're hoping this last half of summer we will find some time to go!
Ryan and Matthew floating down the lazy river

The first real weekend of summer, we spent the weekend in Conroe with the Correas and Zakarians. Somehow, this was the only picture I ended up with!! They were pretty cute sharing the iPad together. They had a big discussion about holding it and watching it together.

The first week of summer, I took Ryan to go see Angry Birds just the two of us. It was nice to just spend a little time with him.
Swim team has definitely consumed the majority of June. This little group of 6 and under boys definitely rocked it this year. Their relays always took 1st and 2nd place, they were pretty untouchable.
Some of our very favorite friends. They love the downtime before and during the meet where they can just play together. And eats lots and lots of sweets and junk food!
Charlie waiting patiently for Ryan's race to begin!
The one meet I didn't have to work, I just went and hung out with Ryan by the ready bench. Charlie followed along and decided to hop right up on there with his big brother!
The team started doing chants and cheers before the meet this year, which was pretty fun to watch. It definitely brought back memories of all of my years on swim team.

About to race the 25 yd freestyle. I still think it is so odd they don't dive off of blocks!
I took both Ryan and Bradley to see Finding Dory a few weeks ago. This was only B's second movie, but he did great this time, not asking to leave once. It's funny to watch the difference between the two boys during the movies. B eats all of his snacks usually before the movie even begins, whereas Ryan will take his time and savor it, making it last as long as possible!
Ryan spent a night with CoCo and Poppy and had the red carpet rolled out for him. No sleepover would be complete without a trip to the candy store!
....and some Mexican food for lunch.
Ryan did his first Camp Pine Cove - Camp in the City this year, and had an absolute blast.
They accomplish so much in one week. They get to participate in a ton of cool outdoor moon bounces, water features, obstacle courses, etc. They also have devotionals and a lot of time in small groups with kids their age.
Here is Ryan's small group. He signed up with his buddy Jacob, from preschool the year before. They had fun getting to spend the week together.
He was so worn out after each day, by the end of the week, he had a double ear infection and was completely exhausted.
The archery activity was one of his favorites. He calls it bow and arrowing. Haha
Here he is on the right, slip and sliding.

Ryan loved it so much, he actually decided to do it again in July.

Here he is with his counselor, Slip. His 3 personality traits they used to describe him at the end of the week were - Aspiring, Enthusiastic, and Reliable. I find them to be pretty spot on. He makes us proud, for sure!
Here we are celebrating my big 33 with some delicious brownies the boys and Wes made for me.
This boys' smile just melts my heart.
This kid kills me. One day, he just decided he wanted to wear this hat and wanted to play his guitar. He kept singing this song that he made up. He just kept repeating "Mashed potato, mashed potato" over and over again while running around the house like a maniac.
At the end of June, we had the swim team party at the neighborhood pool. The boys had quite a good time chowing down on a bunch of junk food and playing in the pool.

Here Ryan is, receiving his medal on the far right. Coach Larry had some very nice things to say about him, one of which being that he was a hard worker with very good technique! Makes this former swimmer proud!
Last up, was us getting ready for our trip to Great Wolf. Here is B modeling his new cap for our trip. He looks super excited, haha.
