April round-up

I feel like April and came went in a flash. It was filled with baseball, the beach, and a lot of school functions. Bradley LOVES baseball. He's so funny because they don't actually keep score in the 4/5 league, but he's determined they are the best team and went undefeated.

When we've had to miss a game or two, he says that he hopes his team can win without him! He's played mainly short stop and pitcher this season and has loved being a little more in the action.

Ryan's also improved a ton! He plays in left field and has made a ton of stops. After about 1/3 of the way through the season, he was moved to 3rd in their lineup and remained there throughout the season.

Ryan's new beanbag chair. If you want to encourage a child to read, buy them a comfy chair! Seriously, he LOVES unwinding in it every night.

These two have really loved playing together as of late. By the time they actually get up in the morning, which has been about 7:30-7:45 since the time change, they have about an hour to play together before we leave for school. They actually get along really well. I know Charlie will miss B next year when he's in Kindergarten!

One of Ryan's birthday gifts! The boys were too funny playing around in it!
We had our first pool day about a month ago. It was still too chilly for the moms, but the boys didn't seem to mind all that much.
B and sweet Camilla. They are going to miss each other so much next year!

A little evening baseball with dad.

Our school's annual fundraiser, Bidding of the Bulls was held at a local restaurant last month. Had such a great time with our friends. We won teacher for the day for Ryan, and a birthday party at Urban Air!

There's an ongoing joke between some of our friends because whenever we have a get together, the kids hammer some Hawaiian punch. Well, we found the mecca of selections at one of our grocery stores the night after our Bidding of the Bulls in which our 3 boys and one of their friends drank over half of two of these different bottles!!!
We had preschool Sunday at church in April. These two will be in Kinder together next year. They crack me up when they are together.
The kids go up during the children's part of the service and sing a few songs for the congregation.

The Greatest Showman has been on repeat around our house. Whether the movie is playing or the soundtrack is playing on Alexa, or the kids are belting it - we hear it all day! I love Charlie's sweet voice when he sings the songs.
We had another fun dinner celebrating one of my sweet friends, Brittnye's, birthday at Blue Gill.
It was such a fun night. One of the finalists from the show, the Voice, was the performer which was pretty cool to watch!
School shenanigans! You can barely see Charlie's head in the bottom corner peering back at his sweet little girlfriend, KinleyKate! She's clearly looking back at him as well - they are too funny!
He said, "look, mom!" He had put his bracelet around his foot and all I could think of was an ankle monitor!
Came by skate day one Friday, and these kids had bought their weight in Icees and candy! One of Ryan's friends asked if I could man the table because they would be having a pizza delivered in a few minutes! They kill me!
We took a boat out on Robinson Island with some friends one Saturday. They have 3 girls with pretty similar ages to our boys, so they all had a lot of fun with each other. B and Ava go to preschool together, so they are good buddies!

It was pretty chilly in the morning, but around lunch got to be very warm!

I had to zoom in quite a bit, but Ryan and Addison, who don't know each other all that well, hit if off very quickly. He was laying out towels for her, running back and forth to get snacks, even put his hands out for her to help her off their boat. It was so cute!
They all basically spent their day chasing each other around in the sand and eating snacks.

Snacks, snacks...
....and more snacks.

Precious!!!!

Clearly these two were excited about smiling for a pic. Allie, who is about 1.5 years younger than Charlie was loving feeding him snacks.

Riding over to Pirate's Cove for hamburgers and Bushwackers!

Our Captain. He's such a natural
They were pretty tired on the boat ride back to the marina.

Clearly my children needed a haircut!
A few peeks into what the littles do at school during the day

We registered Bradley for Kindergarten toward the end of the month. He has been so dang excited for the past few weeks, he could hardly sleep the night before. Luckily, he did well on the assessment and they are going to take him next year!
He and his buddy Pierson

These two will be quite the pair next year!

He said what he is most looking forward to includes - Snow Wizard, Skate day, pizza snack day and field day. Obviously, he has his priorities in line.
We finished off the day with a lunch date with just the little ones to Chick-fil-a, then came back to check out the big boys from school and went to the park and Urban Air. Oh yeah, and B said he's excited he will get to "check out" for fun things like that once he goes to school there.

Charlie sporting his Cardinals shirt in support of B's baseball team. My friend, Amanda, gave this to him and he loves it! He obviously wasn't in the mood to take a pic!

He and his BFF, Hudson just doing what they do best. Pushing each other down the hills in his dump truck.

The last weekend of April was Field Day for Ryan. I had left that morning to visit Sarah and Kristen in Colorado, so Wes was on duty. He went to watch some of the events. Loving these pics of the tug of war. Ryan's on the ground in the grey cap.

We visited the red rocks at Garden of the Gods the first evening we were there.

We went and had dinner at the exclusive (haha) Garden of the Gods resort after walking around. Apparently, you had to be a member of the club to eat, but we didn't know that until after we sat down to order. Luckily, they let us stay!
After a day at the spa, we went and had dinner in Colorado Springs.
The next day, we had tea at the Glen Eyrie Castle. The grounds were beautiful.
The food was delicious. Highly recommend this place in Colorado Springs.

So fancy!
We headed over to the Broadmoor after tea to have drinks outside. This place is gorgeous as well.
Mojitos and Phase 10 is pretty hard to beat on a Sunday afternoon!
Monday morning, we headed to the airport after breakfast. I spent the entire day travelling. Meanwhile, back at home.... my sweet sitter sent me some pics of the boys

We had such a great time together, as we always do. The next time I see Sarah, the twins will be here! Such a fun month with friends and sports; now for the rat race of school functions before they get out for summer.
