checking out his loot
he loves musical toys
yay for the drum set
now I won't have to play with Mommy's laptop all the time (yeah right, wishful thinking)
After Ryan opened his gifts and played with them for a few minutes, we all got dressed and headed to Sugarland for breakfast with Gigi, Allie, and Jon. After we stuffed our faces, we opened gifts. Ryan was delirious at this point. After not having fully recovered from the day before, he decided he didn't need naps either. He was a little fragile, but still demanded just as must attention and made us laugh a ton. Ryan was super spoiled this year by both grandparents. He better enjoy it now before any other kiddos come along and he's not the only one :)
Ryan got a Radio Flyer and a train set, woo hoo :)
Early in the afternoon, we headed back over to Jersey Village for dinner with my family. We let Ryan open his gifts when we got there because he was so overtired, he had to nap.
Ryan's loot
Next year maybe we should just get him a few rolls of wrapping paper!
not sure about my face here
yay for the toy
"This one is mine!"
what a mess!
After Ryan opened his gifts, we decided it was time for a nap. We put him in his crib and an hour and a half later at nearly 5 pm, he was asleep. He didn't even cry much, just played and tossed and turned while we enjoyed wine and opening our gifts. We had a yummy dinner and eventually had to wake him up after he slept for an hour and a half, which was a mistake. He was so upset and cried all the way home. We put him to bed almost immediately as we began to prepare for our 6th and final Christmas get together.
Sunday afternoon, Wes' dad came to town and Allie and Jon came over to have Christmas at our house. We grilled steaks and played washers and enjoyed the nice, chilly day. Ryan was much more well rested and once again, was being a show off for everyone with his kicks and crawling.
gifts from Grandpa
.It was a wonderful weekend of Christmas celebrations. We feel very blessed to be able to spend it with everyone we care about and feel very loved! I know they will just get more and more fun each year. I can't wait to see what next year brings!
