Meet the Mocks: 4 months

Our little Charlie bear is already 4 months old and loving life. He's such a happy baby and a joy to be around. He loves to babble and giggle and really sounds like he is trying to talk. When we say hi to him, I swear he says something back that sounds like "Eye." His newest trick is attempting to hold his bottle. He takes his milk very seriously.

As you can see below, he doesn't miss a meal. Although his stats say otherwise, he seems so chunky to me.

Height - 27 in. (96%)

Weight - 15 lbs. 12 oz (65%)

Head - 16.75 in. (57%)

Happy boy enjoying tummy time. He has rolled from tummy to back quite a bit, but hasn't quite mastered back to tummy.

Trying so hard to roll over, but he always gets stuck in the same position.

He has already taken to his lovey given to him by Sarah (she knows my kids well). I think we are going to be 3 for 3 in the lovey attachment department. It clearly makes him happy, so I have already ordered him another one that we can hopefully get him attached to it as well.

Charlie loves, loves, loves his hands! He is always playing with them, praying, or jamming a fist into his mouth. Starting to wondering if he is in the beginning stages of teething because he is drooling a ton and always sucking on his hands. He is still not into the pacifier at this time, so I am not sure if it is a good thing or bad thing (haha -considering my kids sleep so well when they've had them).

His feet are also extremely interesting to him. He will lay on this blanket or in his bouncer for a solid hour at times even if he is all by himself. He is so chill and easy going, he doesn't want for much,

He'll get his feet going and kicking like crazy until the bouncer is in full motion.

As far as sleeping goes, not a whole lot has changed in that department. He still goes down for bed around 8:30-8:45 and normally does not get up until about 3:30-4:30 am. After that, it's a little inconsistent. He usually sleeps another 2 hours (5:30-6:30) eats again and then gets up around 7/7:15 am or so for the day. I am hoping the early morning feeding will go away soon as he clearly does not need to eat 2 hours later after the first feeding. We had one really bad week when he got sick. I think Bradley had a bit of a cold and passed it onto him. I was not surprised seeing how he is constantly kissing on him and in his face. Unfortunately, a cold to an infant is much worse. It turned into a double ear infection and bronchiolitis (which is basically RSV for an infant). I don't think I have ever used our Nose Frida as much as I did in those 7-8 days. During that week he was up about every 3 hours. We had the best of intentions to move him to his crib during this month, but with the horrible congestion and junk in his lungs, it was better to keep him more upright in the bassinet. Now that he is on the mend, I am thinking the time is coming because he is about as long as the bassinet is and starting to outgrow it.

His naps and nursing times haven't changed much either. I think he still nurses/eats 7 times a day and naps about 4 times. If we are lucky, one of those naps can be 1-2 hours, but the rest are always right at 40 minutes. He usually take a few bottles of milk throughout the day and when he does he takes about 4.5 ounces. My supply can no longer keep up with his needs, so he has been cranking through my frozen supply at about 12 oz. a day. He loves to play peek-a-boo and getting tickled. He still has two adorable dimples and two little tiny ones above the corners of his upper lip. He's in size 2 diapers and size 6-9 months clothes. He loves to lay on the changing table and could play up there forever if we'd let him.

His brothers just adore him (especially Bradley, it's crazy!) and are always looking for photo ops with him! He seems to be just as into them as they are to him. He always lights up and smiles when they start talking to him or lay next to him.
