Halloween 2014

Ryan has been crazy excited about Halloween this year. From marking off each day in October on his school calender as soon as he wakes up in the morning, to wearing his Batman costume around the house all of the time, to complaining about me not having decor out at our house, he just can't contain himself. He'll out of no where start getting all giddy talking about how excited he is, and before Halloween was even over, he was plotting out what he wants to be next year (which is currently Peter Pan).

Since we are new to the neighborhood, and were unsure if there would be a lot of trick-or-treaters, we decided to actually go back to Timbergrove and trick-or-treat with our friends, the Kruppas. The neighborhood always puts together such a great time for the kids, plus you can hit up the whole blocked off area in about 45 minutes. Not knowing how Charlie would handle it, we felt it would be a quick way for the kids to pack in a bunch of fun {and candy!!}.

I really did not know what B would think of the whole thing, as he did not want to wear his costume at all over the past 6 weeks. For some reason though, yesterday morning, he was all about putting it on for our playdate with Braden & Jordan. I got this pic at the house that morning just in case the afternoon didn't go as expected.

Luckily, he complied later that afternoon and wore it gladly, for the whole evening. I tried to get a few pics with the boys before we started. We did have to bribe B with a lollipop to put his mask on for a few pics.

He hated the eye mask, and I don't think I can blame him. So needless to say, it was off within 2 minutes.

Bradley picked up very quickly on how this whole thing works. He was not shy as I expected he would be, and would go right up to people with his lil pumpkin, set it down, grab the piece of candy, put it int he pumpkin, and move on to the next person. He insisted on walking, so it slowed us down a bit, but he was a trooper.

This particular stop was amusing. This was one of our first stops with a bunch of people sitting next to one another. These ladies were trying to give him candy, and he flat out shook his head no over and over at the first lady, but then gladly took some candy from the woman next to her.

 B has quickly learned to go pick out the good stuff himself.

Ryan was so cute since B was lagging behind a bit, one of us would be with Ryan and the other with Charlie and B, Ryan would go up to people and ask for a piece for his brother, too. I am sure they just thought he was vying for more candy. Either way sweet/smart kid! Ryan would just rush off ahead and then coming running back to us, screaming with excitement how much candy he had and wanting us to look at how much he was acquiring.

Poor Charlie just wasn't having it. His feeding schedule and naps had been thrown off a bit, so he wasn't content in the stroller or when Wes would wear him, plus the milk wasn't warm enough, so he finally just kinda cried himself to sleep in the stroller the last little bit that we were out. So I snapped a pic of him in his pumpkin onesie once we got home so I can remember that he actually was with us!

The boys were WIRED once we got home even though all they had was one lollipop and one piece of candy, they must have been on an adrenaline high. They put back on their costumes and chased Wes, "the bad guy" around the house. It was really cute. I can't imagine once Charlie is running around with them next year!!!
