I realized after downloading all the pics off my iPhone, that this post would appear to be more of a summer activity recap given the insane heat, but no, it's a summary of the past few weeks here in Houston. Ryan and B have really developed a strong love/hate (more like fight) relationship here lately. Albeit more love than hate for sure, they definitely can't seem to resist each other (even if it does mean aggravating each other 24/7). They are becoming the best of friends almost to the detriment of Charlie. They get annoyed when Charlie comes and wrecks a fort they have built or a tower of Magnatiles they have constructed. Poor kid just wants to be in on the action.
Ryan started soccer about a month ago and has really improved just over the past four weeks. I think it is safe to say, he actually likes it this year. He had to play "skins" one game because the other team didn't have enough players, so he subbed in. The kids thought it was hilarious.
He even has his own cheerleading section. You can tell, B takes his job very seriously.
Snacks are usually the only saving grace for the kids in the horrendous heat.
Charlie, working on his standing. He thinks he is hot stuff. Little does he know that at 14 months, he is achieving a milestone of an 8-9 month old! Just kidding, we're still proud :)
Team huddle - the Green Goal Scoring Machines (they named themselves)
What do you do when your kids outnumber the adults at bathtime? You have one kid bathe another! B actually did this on his own which I thought was hilarious.CoCo and Poppy's pool was finally finished after Labor Day, so we have tried to take advantage of it while we can and it's still warm enough outside. The boys (and Wes, too) are having a blast with jumping off the rocks and going down the waterslide. They will literally do this over and over for 30-45 minutes straight.
Charlie likes to lounge on the sundeck.
The boys have been having a lot of fun together, using their imagination lately. They constructed a "grocery store" and apparently this was the only way to enter or exit. Seems safe....Bahama Bucks finally opened in Katy (and it's literally across the street from Bradley' school, uh-oh!). We had an after school sno-cone date with our good friend Hannah a few weeks ago.
Wes went and read to Ryan's class a few Fridays ago, and Ryan was pretty pumped. I also went and ate lunch with him a week or so ago, too, but you can't take any pictures in the lunch room :(
Child labor at its finest. They boys actually love to help with laundry (more so just throwing the clothes in the wash).Game #2 was a doozie. Ryan scored 3 goals and had an awesome game.I think it turned around his whole outlook on the game. It has definitely given him more confidence when playing!
Here's the progression of one of his goals he made. He took the ball almost all the way down the field! It's been a lot of fun to watch
Here are two of his best buddies that just happen to live on our street!
The boys' Halloween costumes have come in and they couldn't resist putting them on. Even superheroes have to do their homework....
B is SUPER excited to be Soupy-man as he calls it.
Just chowing down on my lunch after he had already eaten his. No worries, I wasn't hungry anyway Bradley. The second trip we made to Bahama Bucks, the whole fam joined in on the fun. Of course they had to have the same flavor and couldn't bother to share with each other. We made some comment about making sure next time, the two were the exact same flavor and B chimed in with something about how we should just get 3. Go figure!
B went a birthday party for a school friend of his recently, and it was at none other than the infamous Westwood! His favorite place in the whole world. We started a weekly gymnastics class there, and he has been loving it. He truly looks forward to it each week.

He's pretty much mastered the rockwall all on his own now. The kid has no fear and loves physical activity. He's already told us he is ready to play soccer and basketball. He's also demanded to have his birthday party at Westwood. So we may just have two parties in one year there!
More fun at CoCo and Poppy's pool a few weeks ago. I LOVE this pic. Ryan has awesome cannonball form. Wes' height isn't too bad either :)
Fun Chick-fil-a lunch date after gymnastics class with Hannah!
Our most recent soccer game. No pics of Ryan, but definitely some good shots of the cheering section!
| think this kid needs a haircut?! |
We are definitely looking forward to some cooler weather and more time spent outside!
