The first half of October was filled with a lot of fun in and around our community.
The elementary school was able to bring in a really neat program called Liberty Legacy for the 3rd grade. It takes a lot of people in the community to bring it to the schools and teaches the children about citizenship and hometown heroes. This was the kick-off to the 2 month program, and Ryan was called up as a volunteer to help demonstrate some fun facts about the Statue of Liberty.

B chatting with his buddy MJ. They go to school together and went to Pre-K last year together as well. This kid is hilarious, and I can only imagine what the two of them were chatting about!

Took B lunch to school for the first time. He felt so special sitting by ourselves. This was one of the things he was looking forward to about going to big kid school!
Ryan had to go back to get a small filling. They used this crazy laser gun to fill it. So like no pain, numbing, etc. It was crazy and so, so fast!
We ventured into a new territory of viruses at our house. In my 8.5 years of parenting I had never heard of Molluscum but when B started having all these tiny pimple looking things under his arm and on his belly, the more people I talked to about it all pointed to the same diagnosis. Apparently it's very contagious by water and our dermatologist treated it with beetle juice. This is after the treatment by about a day. They all blister up as they heal, and it was so crazy and painful for him. Ryan also ended up with it, but probably only half as bad. Hopefully, we never encounter this again!
Their school had their Fall Festival early in the month, and this was one of the kids favorite things we did last year, so they were pretty excited about it. The cascarones or confetti eggs as they are called here, were probably the biggest hit of the night. I learned my lesson from last year and just bought them a ton of them because they don't last long.

Ryan was far too busy for me to get any pics of him probably because he was chasing down every 3rd grade girl within sight. Got one quick snap of him with his friends.
Charlie had a blast trying to peg people as well.

My mom sent them these awesome camo vests and they were obsessed for months. I think they dressed up in these everyday, found all sorts of goodies and gadgets and junk to stuff in all the pockets.
They have provided hours of entertainment and a ton of make believe scenarios. It was really cute. I love how Charlie is looking up to big bro here.

He had been skating quite a few times before, so he wasn't really nervous and was ready to get out on the rink. It was a very interesting sight to see so many little 5 and 6 year olds trying to get out there.
