Back to Routine

September was spent getting back into our normal routine with school and sports and shorter days.

I am so behind on the blog, I am having a hard time keeping everything straight! I assume Charlie came down with something hence why he slept on the air mattress in our room!

He loves to play this game whenever we park and acts like he is asleep!

I consigned a bunch of old stuff in a local sale, and man it was a lot of work. I put them to work on helping tag and bag stuff. They actually thought it was pretty fun.

We took the kids with our friends, the Harrells, to a hibachi restaurant once school was underway. They had never been to one before and had the best time. Ryan was in his element, wanting to taste everything. Charlie was terrified of the fire, so he kept a safe distance during those times.

Bradley's good buddy, Pierson, had a birthday and one of the things he wanted to do was have B spend the night. Buzz had never spent the night anywhere, so I wasn't sure how it was going to go, but he hopped in their car and didn't look back. He loved every minute of it and wasn't nervous at all.. Here's a pic of them sleeping in!! Now he asks to have slumber parties all the time.

B had a Kinder parade that was titled, "What I want to be when I grow up" and of course, his first thought was candy maker. He says it every year, so we felt it was appropriate for him to go as Willy Wonka, sometimes mistaken for the Madhatter, but whatever :) Here he is trying it on when it came in the mail!

Charlie decided he needed to put on a costume as well. I bought this last year at 50% off on the day after Halloween and completely forgot about it. Luckily, he was still into Paw Patrol enough to agree to go as Marshall for Halloween!

The boys now both have homework and Charlie felt left out, so he started saving some of his extra work for when the boys get home from school. He started out the year not being able to write his name at all, and by probably Thanksgiving he had it down pat.

Meeting with other community members as well as the focus in September was on community.

B having his fall dental check up. All clear, no cavities.

Not sure what he was doing here, but look closely and you can see a little smile peeking out.

School and sports poops us all out. He dropped his naps during the summer, but every now and then, it would catch up to him. Here he is one Friday afternoon just passed out completely when we were supposed to be going to dinner!

Football season has arrived and our Aggies were all decked out. Love their sweet A&M gear from my sweet friend's shop!

  

   Ryan was perfecting his handstand this fall and I have to say, he has gotten pretty good with them!

Game day fun - miss seeing them everyday at preschool and the Y!

The Kindergarteners took a field trip around the community and had a great time. We started with Rouses where they got a look into each department, see what the workers do and ask all sorts of questions!

  

I think their favorite station was the bakery. They let each class ice a cookie cake and every child got a turn. Luckily, they had given them a cookie because the icing was pretty tempting to all those little 5 and 6 year olds!

We ended up bringing them all with us to our next stop at the fire station.

The kids have always loved visiting the fire station, and B has been going for a few years now.

Impossible to get everyone looking at the camera at the same time!

  The Chief of the Fire Station has a daughter in Ryan's class, and he may or may not have a little crush on her.

They sounded the alarm and all of the kids about lost it; it was REALLY loud!

Our last stop was to the community center which holds the SF library. One of the kids bus drivers came and read a cute story to them.

My tag-a-long! They do the parades from 8:45-9 whenever they have them. So it's just enough time for me and Charlie to go watch before taking him to school.

B and his best buddy, Barrett. They connected from day 1 and have been inseparable since!

  He loved every minute of it and was totally strutting his stuff!

Aunt Allie and GiGi sent him a candy making kit to go along with aspired profession. He and Wes tried out a recipe and it was pretty good!

Charlie found another half price Halloween costume from the attic and for whatever reason, it cracked me up. He was hilarious in it.

We had open house at the elementary toward the end of the month. The boys loved showing off all of their hardwork in the classrooms.

T-ball season in full swing and his buddy Pierson ended up on his team.

We had a surprise 40th birthday party for my friend, Alecia, in downtown Mobile.

  Got into the swing of swim meets as well and started off the season with TNT meet at the Y for hte younger swimmers.

So proud of how far he has come in one short year.

It was definitely a month for adjustments with now having 2 kids in elementary school and getting used to B waking up early, Charlie going to school 5 days a week and not napping, and then swim and baseball picking back up. Wouldn't trade it for the world, though!
