One Month

We made it! Ryan turned one month on Monday and we feel like things are starting to somewhat settle down. We celebrated this milestone by putting him in his crib for the entire night for the first time. He did pretty well, but when he did wake up, he screamed like no other. We think he may have been a little scared :( but definitely slept better not hearing him grunt every 5 minutes.

We took him for his four week check-up last Friday and the doc said he looked great. While she was examining him, she turned him over on his stomach on the table and he immediately pushed himself up a good 4-5 inches and just held himself there. The look on her face was priceless, she said he looked more like a 4 month old baby (he has gotten very strong, which can be somewhat painful at times). Here were his stats:
Height - 23 inches (95th percentile)
Weight - 11.05 lbs (75-90th percentile)
Head - 15 1/2 inches (50th percentile)
He has been a lot of fun the past week or so. He's become so much more alert and loves to stare up at the ceiling, the lights, the fans, etc. The only problem with his "awake time" is that he needs to be held almost the entire time! Don't get me wrong, we love holding him and loving on him, but it does make it hard for us to get anything done, and right now the swing, bouncer, and anything else that could keep him occupied works for a whole 5 minutes before he gets fussy. The Baby Bjorn is our new best friend!

He has discovered his hands and is learning to use them to hold his pacifier in his mouth.

He loves sitting outside, going for walks, and riding in cars - they all put him to sleep in an instant (maybe it's more I love him doing those things!). Here are some pics over the last two weeks.

As for the rest of us, we have enjoyed going out as a family a little bit. We've finally started going to a few restaurants, to Coco and Poppy's house (my parents) and to GiGi's house (Wes' mom). It's nice not to be couped up all day long. We're definitely looking forward to getting out more over the next few weeks!
