5 months!

It's hard to believe our little man is already 5 months old! It is crazy how much he has changed over the past few weeks. Wes and I took a little mini vacation to New Braunfels with Jill and Turner and did just about all the touristy things you can do there in one weekend. We got up super early and went to Schlitterbahn, went to Gruene Hall (where we saw Miranda Lambert; she was there for a bachelorette party and got up to sing one song), shopped around the cute little stores, ate at Gristmill plus lots of other yummy, not good for you food, floated the Guadalupe, went to the Red Rooster Cafe, and just had a great time getting away with good friends.
Ryan stayed with CoCo and Poppy (no pics of his stay, but here is a pic from lunch with Poppy - he is realllly obsessed with pinching things as hard as possible right now, especially necks- as seen below)

He also stayed a night with GiGi while we were gone. Here are a few pics from his stay there.

Just as we were starting to get a really good nights sleep, is when we went out of town again for the weekend and came back to a whole different kind of animal. I honestly don't think it had too much to do with being away, more so that it looks like his two bottom teeth are trying to come in, but just won't break the skin yet. So we went from getting up 0-1 times a night to 2-4 times now!!! We took away his wedge that we used to make him sleep in, so I know that is taking some getting used to as well. He has a new found freedom and free reign of the crib!
We also started Ryan on some rice cereal a few weeks ago. Right now we are currently feeding him 1 tbsp. in the AM and 1 tbsp. in the PM. He absolutely loves it and is doing so well eating from a spoon. He gets really excited as soon as we put him in his little highchair. He gets very calm and then the excitement builds, he bangs his fists on the tray and we can't feed him fast enough. He just babbles between bites, I would love to know what he was thinking!

His first experience, not quite sure about what was going to happen

yum yum yum

just chillin waiting for his breakfast!

Ryan has been extremely active these past few weeks. He rolls his tongue to make all sorts of sounds. He loves to get his feet in his mouth whenever possible and loves rolling over as soon as we get him on the ground. He will also try so hard to stick out his tongue if you stick out yours at him.

We have been working on his ability to sit-up recently as well. He will FINALLY resist the temptation to arch his back whenever we try and sit him down. So as of now, he can sort of prop himself up with his arms while leaning forward, but he will actually play in his Bumbo for more than 2.2 seconds, which is nice.

He turned 5 months last week and is now well over 18 lbs. We took him to the doc two weeks ago for a little eye problem and he was 18 lbs 1 oz. The boy loves to eat. He also loves to stare at himself now too

As far of Wes and I go, we've had a fun month being away for two weekends, Wes turned 27, put Ryan in the pool for the first time (will post pics later), we took the lil guy to White Linen Nights in the Heights which was a lot of fun. Ryan was pooped by the end of it.
I am also now 3 weeks into my Crossfit Bootcamp with Jill, which is actually a lot of fun. We both have good motivation to get in shape (me- lose the baby weight and she has her wedding). We go M-W-F evenings at Memorial Park and now know what burpees and thrusters are :)

We are just loving being parents and watching him learn something new each day. Happy 5 Months, Ryan!
He was not very excited about this month's photo shoot.
