...and now, 186 days later we have this little blessing!
Ryan had his 6 month check-up this morning (along with 4 vaccines :( he was a trooper though) and he came back with an excellent report.
His stats were:
Length - 29 inches (> 97%, off the chart)
Head - 18.5 inches (> 97%, off the chart)
Weight - 19 lbs. 5.5 oz (75-90%)
By the average of the stats, he is actually the size of a 1 yr old! Haha. She said he is definitely ready to move on from rice cereal now, so sometime this week we will begin veggies! He has recently gotten a little bored with the cereal, so hopefully he will be open to all sorts of new foods. She is also having us go to a doctor to look at his head. When he was really little he would only sleep with his head to one side, now he has a nice flat spot from it, so we are going to have to see if he needs a helmet :(
This is what else he has been up to the last month or so:
*He has been in Size 3 diapers since the end of 4 months
*He has been wearing 9 months clothes since he turned 5 months and now we'll be moving onto some 12 months since his legs are all tight in his footie pjs
*He has basically been sleeping through the night for about 2-3 weeks now. He goes down at 8 pm and will usually wake up 1-2 times for 2 or 3 minutes and try to get comfortable and sometimes has to have us go flip him back onto his tummy; then he will get up about 7:45 am
*He has a very erratic nap schedule. He will sometimes take one long nap anywhere from 1 1/2 - 2 hours and then usually 2-3 30 min naps throughout the day. He is really cute when he goes down for a nap - he just grunts moans really loudly with his eyes closed in a constant tone until it puts him to sleep
*He can pretty much put his pacifier in and take it out of his mouth
*When he gets excited he sticks out his tongue, curls it up toward his lip, and smiles a great big grin
*His bottom two teeth came in a week ago, and it is really cute to see him smile!
*He finally is starting to play in the bathtub, splashing around and playing with his toys
*He still hates sitting up; he can do it when we make him, but it always results in him crying..
He does play a lot more on his tummy now and actually enjoys it......
.....almost as much as staring at himself in the mirror!
Earlier this month, we tried to get in the pool. It wasn't as warm as he probably would've liked. So, needless to say, the whole ordeal lasted about 5 minutes. Guess we'll have to wait until next summer to splash around!
I thought this picture was funny because he looks so dang old!Still loves chomping on his toes :)
and gnawing on just about anything else he can get his hands on!
Scotty liked to push Ryan around in the walker.
I recently just spent my first weekend away from both of my boys at the same time. My brother and his fiance, Alissa had an engagement party in Oklahoma City. It was a lot of fun, the weather was awesome, and we stayed in a cute part of the city called Bricktown, which was really neat and has fun restauarants and bars. A ton of their friends came into town and it was just a nice weekend away. Thanks so much Wes for taking care of the lil guy all weekend!
But I definitely missed my lil man (and Wes too, of course!) I feel like you can miss so much in just two days.

We went through the head thing with Connor too. We never ended up having to get the helmet but they had to keep examining it. Good luck! He is a cutie
