And the winner is....

....nothing as of yet! Last weekend we started Ryan on solid foods. After seeming extremely bored with rice cereal and oatmeal, we thought he would be so excited to eat grown up food. Well, that has not been the case. We our following our pediatrician's orders by going through all of the veggies first, so what could be better than avocados!??! It's actually a food most people like to eat raw, well not our lil guy.
I am planning on making as much of his food as possible, so I ordered this handy little steamer, defroster, blender, called the Babycook, to make this whole process a little shorter and more efficient. Here are my recent masterpieces - Sweet Potatoes and Zucchini.

Well, last week he had zucchini, and was just okay with it; that was of course with a teaspoon of oatmeal added to it. So, tonight we thought surely he would be interested in sweet potatoes because they are smooth and yummy. It was a BUST. I have never seen such a drama queen - all the gagging and horrible faces, it's hard not to laugh at him!

Here we are before:

....and after...

On top of that, I made enough zucchini and sweet potatoes for a week, so Ryan may just be learning to like them! Besides that, he is insisting on holding his bottle while eating {that is, once he's drank enough to where it is light enough for him to hold}. We also started him on a sippy cup, but he is much more interested in drinking out of our plastic cups!
We had such a nice, relaxing weekend, other than watching the Aggies lose on Saturday. I got some shots of my two boys all decked out in their Aggie gear.

wants to be just like his daddy!

Ryan was very into the game!

Wes and I were able to go out and celebrate our anniversary Saturday night. We went to La Griglia and ate way too much, then went to meet Jill and Turner at Cedar Creek. Sunday we got up and went to try a place in the heights for breakfast called the Big Mamou. It's cajun and had delicious beignets and had a neat atmosphere, we'll definitely be back! We spent the rest of the day working in the yard and enjoying the nice fall weather!
Here is Ryan, overseeing our progress on the yard this weekend.
