Kemah!!

This past weekend we went with my family to Kemah for a day. The weather was gorgeous last week, so we thought it would be a perfect fall day. Well, it turned out okay, but the first half of the day was cold and wet (probably why both my mom and I are sick this week). We started off the morning by going to pick up Ryan's big boy car seat. Not sure if he likes it too much yet. I think he can't look around as much so it is probably a whole lot more boring driving places right now. Here we are in his last car trip in the infant seat, all decked out in his Aggie gear for game day.

 Afterwards, ghetto style, pant leg up and one sock off. A little unsure of the whole thing.

We made it to Kemah by lunch time and had lunch on the boardwalk (one of the few non-Paleo meals this weekend!). We then walked around and play a few games. The guys favorite was the hit the sledge hammer as hard as you can to see how manly and strong you are!

Ryan just watched :) He had so much fun exploring a new place, he only napped for a few minutes in his stroller the whole day!

We took him on the little carousel, which he was a little nervous about, but once it started going, he LOVED it! This was taken right before he grabbed ahold of the pole and proceeded to lick it.

We then went to check in at the little bed and breakfast my parents had found. It was so cute and perfect for the 7 of us. We enjoyed some wine on the porch while Ryan enjoyed all the attention. 12th man getting his game face on with his rendition of the Heisman pose!

We went to dinner at T-Bone Tom's (some place that has been on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives) and watched the first half of the A&M game and ate lots of fried food. Ryan was so well behaved, too!  Afterwards, we took him home to get him ready for bed. Then my parents were nice enough to babysit while we went out with my brother and his fiance Alissa to go finish watch A&M beat up on Baylor. We decided we should go try a local Kemah bar to cap off the night, which was interesting to say the least. Ryan did so well the entire time until about 1:30am when we went to bed; not sure if it was being in a strange place, or the pack-n-play, or sleeping in the same room with us, but probably the loud music from the bar next door that woke him up; he was up for 2.5 hours after that. We finally broke down and made him a bottle, but needless to say, his first night in a hotel was not a complete success. We had a great time anyway and realized Ryan will probably like to travel as much as mom and dad do!

We may just have to put Ryan in his game day uniform on Saturday for good luck against Nebraska!
