Busy Weekend

We had a fun-filled weekend full of a wedding shower, a Sip-n-See, birthday dinner with friends, a 1st birthday party, and on top of all that - having our vanity built in the guest bathroom. Wes was off this past Friday, so we had a nice long 3 day weekend with our family. We went to lunch and ran errands all day Friday. We ran into Babies R Us to pick up a few things and every single time someone came over the intercom, this is the face Ryan would make.

It is his new favorite face to make. Anytime the phone rings, a text message or email comes through our cell phones, a doorbell, you get the drift, he makes the craziest face like he is just so surprised and wonders if everyone else just heard this same sound he did. It cracks us up. Here is it again from a few weeks ago.

Saturday morning, we had some men come over to build our vanity in the guest bath. Then Ryan and Wes headed over to his Uncle's house for his cousin's wedding shower. Ryan had a lot of fun getting in the water and splashing around in their pool. It was his first dip of the summer. He absolutely had a blast, so I see many more pool trips in our future. Below is another new face of his which is when he tucks his upper lip behind is lower lip - not sure why, but he crawls around like this all day long.

While they were in Jersey Village, I headed to Sugarland to meet my cousin, Allison's, sweet baby girl Izzy. I didn't bring my camera, but hopefully I will see her today and get a pic of her! That night, we all went to dinner at Texas Roadhouse with Jill and Turner and Kir and John for John's birthday. Ryan was such a trooper all day. We didn't get home until about 9 (which is super late for him). He rewarded us with sleeping in until about 9 the next morning! Sunday afternoon Ryan attended his first birthday party for my cousin's little boy Will. It was such an adorable party with an All American theme which included a cute hot dog warmer, popcorn machine, and lots of festive treats. He was very shy at first around all of the other kids, but by the end of the party he was hamming it up and even worked a little bit on his walking some.

We had such a fun weekend with all of our family and friends. This morning, I came over to my parents to do a little bit of work, and the first thing Ryan does is head for the pantry. This boy knows what he wants! Caught red-handed!
