Galveston Trip Numero Dos

Our second trip to Galveston this summer was the second weekend in May for the annual Mock family beach trip. GiGi rented a house in Pirate's beach for the 3rd year and we all headed down there Thursday evening for a relaxing weekend. Both boys stayed awake on the trip down, but luckily didn't get too antsy. We stopped off at The Spot for an early dinner and enjoyed delicious seafood. We just got settled that evening, letting the boys explore the house and relax.

Friday, we had a beach day. It has been an unusually cool spring here, so the water still was pretty chilly unfortunately. Ryan didn't seem to mind too much though. We played in the sand and let the boys just run around on the beach. That afternoon, while the boys napped, all of the girls went to have girl time and get pedicures. While we were away, Ryan started on a Mother's Day project for me. He and Wes put together and painted a box for me - so sweet!

Once we got home, Ryan insisted on going to the country club and luckily, Wes was brave enough to endure the chilly waters with him. They were the only two in the entire place!! We have been there a few times before and he associates this place with the "smoothies" and was a little bummed the pool bar was not open for him to get one :(

That evening, we had our annual Mexican Train challenge which is always very competitive and fun!!! We decided the next morning, to all head out to Palm Beach at Moody Gardens for the day. It was pretty overcast at first and the water was pretty dang cold, but by lunch time, the sun was out and it really wasn't too bad. It definitely did not stop Ryan from having fun.

B took some time warming up to the water, but after a while, he was all about it. He had a blast running through the sprayers and trying to plug them up.

I think Ryan could've played on these slides all day long and had all of his aunts and uncles taking him down the slides.

My hunk of a hubby :)

I went home with B around nap time because we were both pooped, but Ryan kept the rest of the gang going strong until late into the afternoon. That evening we all crashed pretty early and packed up the next morning. Before heading out, we stopped by another one of our favorite places, Mosquito Cafe, for a Mother's Day brunch. It was such a fun weekend and a nice little getaway to get us rested up before the big move the following weekend. A post on the move is soon to come.
