Galveston Trip Numero Uno

This summer we have a few trips lined up to Galveston. With two lil ones, being super pregnant, Wes' work schedule, and moving, Galveston is probably as far away as we will make it over the next few (more than likely, many) months. Thankfully, it has really been cleaned up over the past few years and there is a lot of stuff to do down there. Wes had to work the first weekend of May, and I was really needing some help/fun stuff to do with the boys. We were lucky enough to go down to a bay house in Galveston for the weekend with my parents, which was such a nice getaway.

We left Friday morning and first stopped at Pleasure Pier. That was our first visit there and it was super cute, mind you a little pricey, but worth it! There was plenty of junk food to be had and tons of rides even for the little ones. Ryan was in Heaven and it wasn't too crowded, so he was able to do some of the rides over and over again without waiting. He and CoCo had a blast on all the kiddie rides. He did everything from the tea cups, to the bumper cars, carousel, fire truck ride, but the most fun of all was had on the elevator-drop ride!

All he wanted to do was run up and down the Pier, so we all took turns holding him so he couldn't escape!

We headed to the bay house that afternoon and the boys just loved the house. It had an elevator and that was pretty much the hit of the weekend. Bradley would just go over to it and point and grunt at it because he wanted to ride it and press all the buttons. That afternoon Ryan and Poppy fished while B napped, then we all played outside, ran around and had sno cones.

Bradley loved throwing the ball with Ryan and played fetch as well. He's a great retriever.

There was such a beautiful sunset and were a ton of dolphins in the bay. Unfortunately, with just an iPhone, it was hard to capture.

B learned how to officially climb on all sorts of furniture that weekend unassisted. GREAT. He thought he was pretty special, eating his pouches and lounging in the chairs.

The next day, my mom and I took the boys to Schlitterbahn. That was the first time I had been to the one in Galveston. Since we had such a cool Spring, we knew the water probably would be a little chilly, but had no idea it would be as cold as it was!! Basically, we walked the entire park and tried all of the little splash pads and kiddie slides, but it was all too cold. There was one pool in the entire park that was heated and that was where most of the families hung out. It was the only water B didn't scream at when he touched it. I think the smoothie was the highlight of the day.

Needless to say, Bradley wasn't a huge fan, but tolerated it as long as he could. When he couldn't take it anymore, we headed back to the house. Wes was able to get off work early enough where he could come to the house for just the evening, which was nice. We grilled steaks and enjoyed the nice evening.

Wes woke up pretty early to head back for work, so we headed out to the beach for the morning before going home. We were down at San Luis Pass and it was nice because there was no one else around and the beach was actually clean. Although a little chilly, it was surprisingly less cold than the water park. Poppy, Ryan, and Bradley worked pretty hard on a sandcastle and moat. B was actually a pretty good worker. He's a task oriented dude and took his job very seriously.

Hence, this is why there aren't many pics of Ryan building the sand castle. He was getting too distracted and wanted to keep running back and forth hauling water to pour into the moat.

They both loved the sand and B really loved feeling it and picking it up, moving it from one bucket to another.

We packed everything up and headed back to the house to get changed. We rinsed off outside, before going in, and this was probably Bradley's most favorite part of the entire trip. I think he could've sat under the little shower for your feet for hours. He had a blast! We couldn't get him to leave.

It was such a nice, long, and fun unexpected weekend. The boys had a blast and were definitely ready to go back the following weekend with the Mock family.
