Christmas Day 2014

We just thought that the night was ending around midnight on Christmas Eve. Little did we know, Wes would be up half the night with Ryan because 1) he was soooo excited and 2) he was getting a bad cold and his ear was hurting. From 4-6 am, Ryan did not sleep (so neither did Wes). He was back and forth with him, as well as having to feed Charlie once (pretty wonderful husband) and I think he was back in our room by 6:45. We finally got up with him around 7:30 that morning in which he said he was up the whole night and did not sleep at all - and it showed as the day went on just how tired he was.

I got the cameras ready and snapped a few pics before the boys came downstairs to see what Santa had brought them.

At this point I switched over to the video camera for a bit, but Ryan was pretty excited and B did not know really what to think! Ryan got lots of Superhero and Avenger toys, some PJs, horseshoes, movies, books and one of the things he was the most excited about was his Responsibility Chart he received. I think it's time to start chores and an allowance! The BatBot was a joint gift for the two of them - for all of the hype surrounding it, they don't seem to care all that much about it.

B mainly wanted everything Ryan received, but he seemed to enjoy a lot of his items as well - especially his A&M chair and the shakers he plays with at Gym class.

After about 30 minutes, Charlie woke up and needed to be fed. So, as I sat on the couch feeding him, B snuck over and started chowing down on Santa's leftovers. He didn't even ask permission, he just went to town on them.

One of my favorite pics of Charlie to date - he obviously had no clue what was going on and just happy to be sitting alone, undisturbed for a bit while his brothers played with their new toys.

Our gift to the boys were personalized Superhero capes and masks .Katy, TX is much safer now with these two crime-fighting superheroes to protect us.

Their big gift was not something that they asked for, but something Santa knew they would love. They have both played on these "roller coasters" at Lupe Tortilla's quite a bit and never want to leave because they have so much fun on them. I think for the first 3 months of us living here, Ryan asked every weekend if we could go just because he wanted to go play on these. Although Ryan's first response when going outside and seeing this was "I didn't ask for this. B can have it." He had a quick change of heart once he remembered just how fun they are.

They were having such a big time playing on this thing. Too bad it's been cold and rainy ever since Christmas day and they haven't had a chance to enjoy it again. Everytime B sees it through the window he says "Weee weeee!" After the boys enjoyed everything Santa brought them, we quickly prepared a few things for brunch for Wes' family. They all came over later that morning to hang out and play with the boys. It was nice for once just to spend the morning at home, with the boys in their pjs in a casual setting. Luckily the weather was so nice, we spent a lot of time outside with the boys on the roller coaster, riding their new bikes, and shooting some hoops. Once his family left, we took the opportunity to relax a bit and recover before heading over to my parents' house for Christmas dinner. By this point, Ryan was not feeling too well and Charlie was not quite acting himself, so it was a little different this year. Once we got Charlie down for a nap, we went ahead and opened presents. B wasn't super into opening them, yet again. He would get fixated on one gift and the rest may as well have been chopped liver. Ryan, on the other hand, took the job seriously. Lucky for him, he received a few things Santa did not bring him, so he was pretty pumped.

B got his own pillow to sleep on, but he gets very confused when you would ask him to lay on it. He sits on it first then lies down. He has now figured it out when sleeping at night.

After gifts, we indulged in another delicious meal and stuffed our faces, again! The boys were pretty beat not long after we finished eating, so we cut the night a little short and got them home to bed. We've spent the last few days cooped up in rainy, cold weather - so it's a good thing they have had all these new toys to keep them occupied!! It was another wonderful Christmas and Ryan has definitely suffered from a little post-Christmas blues. He looked forward to changing the advent calendar every morning and was sad to learn it didn't just start over after Christmas. B has been very saddened by the fact theat Mr. Ducky (our elf) is no longer with us and went back to the North Pole. He had just as much fun, if not more, than Ryan waking up each morning and looking for him. "Gack" as he calls him, has been very missed. Can't wait until next year when both B and Ryan will really get into the holiday season together!!
