Cabo 2016

Wes and I took our annual getaway a few weeks ago to Cabo. This was our 3rd visit there over the past couple of years, and it was probably our best trip yet. We love the beach, eating good food, and short/non-stop flights. So, this fits the bills for us!
Enjoying our first drink of the trip while waiting for our room to be ready!
This was the view from our hotel room. It was pretty overcast the first day, but the rest of the trip was bright and sunny.
We spent the first evening at the rooftop bar of our hotel. It was awesome, they would bring out a live band during happy hour as the sun was setting.

Once it got dark, there was a lady who danced with fire sticks. It was pretty impressive.

This is where we ate breakfast most mornings. We had such a great view of the famous arch from our hotel. We spent most days sleeping in, laying out by the pool, walking the beach, and enjoying great food and drinks. We occasionally snuck in a few naps here and there as well.
Before dinner the second night, we stopped off at the rooftop bar again for happy hour. We had better seats this time. It was such a beautiful view.
We headed into town a few nights for dinner. The first night was at a very authentic Mexican restaurant, Los Tres Gallos, with huge margaritas.
The skies were pretty clear on the 3rd day, so I got a few good pics of the arch with the waves rolling in.

We headed back into town for dinner to a place we visited on our last trip here called La Hacienda. The food is great and the view is amazing.
The next day, we did a sailing trip out of the marina. This was our favorite part of the trip. It was a half day with about 12 other people and was so peaceful. We stopped by the arch on our way out of the marina, and got a pretty good view of it.

After an hour or so, we stopped to snorkel near a beach. The water was pretty chilly! After looking around for a bit, we decided to hop back in the boat for some lunch! We then took off and sailed back for an hour or two. Caught this view on our way back.
That night, we went to one of the most awesome restaurants/dining experiences we've ever had. It 's El Farallon at the Pedregal Resort. We got there as the sun was setting because we had a late dinner reservation (even 10 days out, we couldn't get in before 8:30!!!). The restaurant is set up high on the cliffs, overlooking the water. When you arrive, you pick out your fish and sides before being seated. Everything was delicious and you could hear (and see the water crashing on the cliffs). Toward the end of dinner, the water was so rough it was even getting us slightly wet!
We spent our last full day down by the pool again and headed our for dinner to Esperanza Cocina del Mar which was also set up on the cliffs. We enjoyed happy hour with some live music at their bar and then headed up to our table.
We are pretty sure that our waiter somehow messed up our order because we were told they serve lobster (which is really what we wanted), but it was off the menu. We ended up with two lobsters as one entree for about $40, so we scored big time!!

 The view was just incredible!

We had such a great trip being able to just sleep in, lay around, and be with each other. We are so thankful to have such wonderful families who give up a few days of their lives and put it completely on hold to take care of our little ones. The boys had a blast with all of the family, and I think it was just enough time to where they didn't get too homesick and were able to have a lot of fun!
