That's what everyone calls the area we live in - Lower Alabama! We had a lot of fun spending the summer here. I think we went to the beach something like 6 weekends in a row or something before we headed to Texas. Over the 4th of July, GiGi and Aunt Allie came to visit us. We headed down to Orange Beach and went out on the boat the first day.
It was an interesting day as we got caught in our first rain storm! It was definitely an adventure trying to maneuver around the storm, but we managed to just fine and got a good tour of the different bays in the area!

GiGi held down the fort with the tired kiddos. They all fell asleep at some point.
He almost always falls asleep on a boat.
After a couple of hours, we decided to head down to the beach to relax, and of course, dig holes!
GiGi and Allie had taken the older boys for a walk, and when they came back they were "scared" by a Charlie popping out of the hole!
Turned out to be a beautiful day!
We all fell asleep on the way home, except I think he was the last man standing!

They're too funny. If B or C sneak into the bathroom while I am getting dressed, they always love to emulate me and either do their hair or pretend to put on make-up.
Taking the golf cart down to the pool for its inaugural ride! It's been a lot of fun having this to ride around in. Wes will take the boys on rides around the neighborhood most nights of the week.
After spending a day at the pool and grilling out for lunch, we all headed down to Boudreauxs for dinner and to try and get a glimpse of the fireworks across the bay in Mobile.
Everyone was a little tired as you can tell by their lack of cooperation for pictures.
It was a fun visit!
The best we could get! Surprisingly, we actually saw quite a few fireworks from various points on the deck. It was pretty cool and the boys loved it!

More summer days at the pool. It wouldn't be a fun pool day without dad throwing you as high up in the air as possible.

The next weekend just our family went down on the boat and it was a lot of fun.
We found a secluded bay and took the kneeboard out for a ride. Both Ryan and I did it, and it was just as fun as I remembered!

The precious 6-7 year old group of friends after practice one day, with their assistant coach, Sahra.
The next weekend, we headed back down to the beach (surprise, surprise!) with our good friends, the Bakers. We met up with them on their boat and docked off at one of the small islands while the boys played.
We then headed to Flora-bama for lunch and then went back down to the island to play! Love how the boys get along so well.
It's not all fun and games this summer at the Mock house. Wes implemented a new tactic so the boys could just see how bored they really could be. This was about 7 min with noses on the wall. They shaped up pretty quickly after that!
The last week of July, we had the boys swim team awards ceremony. They were each awarded a medal for participation this summer. Bradley was so dang cute. He was so excited to receive it and just so very proud of it!

They gave out specialty awards next where Ryan received one of the Coach's Award from Asst. Coach Sahra for hardwork, dedication, positive attitude, etc. She had some wonderful things to say about him and he was just thrilled to receive this honor.

Actually, so proud of both of these boys! B was the only 4 year old boy on the team and he really gave it his all the entire time. He was a little bummed he didn't receive a trophy (granted only 6-7 kids on the whole team got that award). He has vowed to work hard for a trophy next year. I love how he just puts his mind to something and doesn't give up!

Two of Ryan's best buds on the team also received the same award from other coaches. They were seriously such hardworkers!
Bradley was begging to wear a cap all season and of course we didn't have any. So, one of our friends let B wear theirs for a practice and he thought he was hot stuff!
We had one last Chick-fil-a lunch after swim team one day with all of our buddies. We had gotten to a point where we were all going 2 times a week! The kids loved spending time with each other outside of practice.

Our last hoorah for the season ended with the City Meet which is basically their version of All-Stars. 6 and unders are allowed to swim no matter what, but beyond that you have to qualify. Ryan qualified in 5 of the 6 events, but we only swam the first day of the meet because we headed to Houston later that day. Their theme was Moana, so we stocked up on some Hawaiian gear! Ryan wanted to try it out before the meet.

Overall, our July was pretty much comprised of either the beach or swim team! It was a fun first year of summer league. The boys had so much fun, they have both decided to join year round swim team with TNT. Up next will be an update of our time in Houston for the last bit of summer!
