Meet the Mocks: Rosemary Beach Trip

After visiting the Emerald Coast in Florida back in May, we knew we wanted to go back. We had such an amazing time, I immediately started researching for our next trip. We decided to go soon after Labor Day since that is when "off season" started and settled on a little condo in Rosemary Beach. We took Ryan out of school after lunch on Thursday and headed that way. We love that it's only about 2.5 hours away from us as you feel like you've been transported to the Caribbean Islands!

It had rained prior to us arriving, and let the most beautiful rainbow. Once we got settled in, we headed out and walked to the town center for dinner.

We went to Cowgirl Kitchen for the first night after checking out the menu and realizing this is exactly what we needed post Whole30! Chips and queso, tacos, and some yummy cocktails is just what this girl needed!

The next morning, we headed down to the beach. The weather was just perfect. Pretty warm but not too hot, and the water was the perfect temp!

Where we were specifically on the beach, you could go out for at least 50 yards and the water was still only knee deep. We found an awesome sandbar about 30-40 yards out and found the motherload of sandollars. They were so cool. We would put them on the boogie boards and let them crawl around before releasing them back into the water. We did take a few home for souvenirs!

Brotherly love. They are really into this best friends phase right now. It is pretty dang cute, although sometimes Charlie gets left out (not that he notices too much....yet).

He is usually pretty absorbed in doing his own thing at the beach. He sets his mind to something and he goes after it. He typically doesn't like others joining in on whatever it is he is doing. In this case, it was filling the bucket with sand - I think.

Every vacation consists on burying dad, even though he was a bit under the weather the first half of the trip.

That evening we were taking family pictures on the beach for our Christmas card this year. We took a few practice shots while waiting on the photographer.

The boys were in great moods and they actually turned out pretty well! One of least stressful photo shoots to date, for sure.

They were drenched after the pics, so we had to make a stop back at the condo to change clothes before heading to dinner. We went to a sports bar type of place, and here they are indulging on some chocolate cake!

I got up the next morning and went for a jog down 30A. It was so pleasant and neat getting to see a few of the towns.

Then he joined Ryan in the search for shells and sand dollars.

Coming up nil, they decided to start jumping waves.

Ryan and B went up with Wes to get out lunch and some frozen smoothies for the kids from the beach bar, so Charlie and I took a walk down the beach to look for shells.

After lunch, they wanted to dig a sand pit and fill it with water. One of the families sitting next to us had a little girl that wanted some playmates, so she came over and joined in on the fun. Come to find out, they live about 20-25 minutes from us!

We walked down to dinner for our last night, but the boys were pretty beat.

As you can see, Charlie had about had it. We decided to go back to the tried and true Cowgirl Kitchen because there wasn't much of a wait and we knew it was yummy!

We all turned in early that night.

The next morning, we decided to walk down for breakfast before checking out. We walked over to Alys Beach to the Fonville Press. Google maps must have had my location off or something because it ended up being like a 25 min. walk!

Luckily, it was worth it! This place was awesome. They built out a really neat playground for the kids, had amazing coffee, and the best short rib scramble I've ever had in my life.
