Back to School - 2017

We had a fast and furious Sunday evening back in Alabama preparing for Ryan's first day of school. There's nothing like that alarm going off bright and early after spending 3 weeks on what was basically vacation in Texas. Ryan was excited to meet his teacher since we had missed it while in Texas. He already knew quite a few buddies in his class which he was pretty happy about.

My big second grader!

I loaded all of us up and drove Ryan to school on the first day, so I could walk him to his classroom. The layout of the SFE is very unique. There are probably 20-25 separate buildings that make up the school, and they are all attached by breezeways. Needless to say, we weren't positive where his exact classroom was, but luckily we ran into one of our friends that is in his class in the parking lot.
Ryan and his swim buddy, Ethan!
He had a great first day and said he really liked his teacher. I always have him take his picture in this t-shirt when he gets home from school since trying to do it before is nearly impossible!

We had meet the teacher for B and Charlie later that week. Charlie has Mrs. Miranda, which was Bradley's teacher from the spring. We were pretty excited to have her again as she truly loved on her kiddos every single day. Charlie was excited because he feels like such a big boy following in his brother's footsteps.
Bradley started school on Thursday which was about 3 days too long of waiting for him. He's known he was going to have Mrs. Melissa for a few weeks and pretty much has wanted to start school ever since. They get to know all of the teachers very well at the school and during lunch bunch, they float around to different teachers, so he's known her for a while.

My little poser. He's such a good subject for picture taking!

This sums up his personality pretty well!
The moment he had been waiting for. It's pretty cute because he has such a crush on her! He came home the first few days with the biggest grin on his face. He would tell me how much he liked her outfit, especially the shorts with the stars on them :)

While B was in school, I took Charlie to get a haircut for his first day.

My handsome fella sportin his new do! Lollipops never hurt either.
The following day, was Charlie's first day. He was ready for his turn with the photoshoot!
This was one of the first times while I was taking pics of him that he voluntarily smiled for me!

Trying to mimic his older brother's pose from the day before!
B, of course, wanted to hop in for a few pics with Charlie.

We made it! All 3 are in school, and he was pretty excited.
Getting straight to work.

My timehop came up a few days later, and I came across Ryan's first day of 3's preschool at St. Lukes! I could not get over how much they look alike, much less the fact that I had them in the exact same shirt 4 years later.
Ryan's teacher sent this pic out to everyone, showing us that our children survived the first week of 2nd grade!
Ever since getting back from Texas, they want to wear all of their Texas gear!
A few pics from the first few days of preschool.
Love getting to see what they do when we aren't around.
We really missed going down to the beach while we were away, so we headed down the first chance we got. Ryan's picked right back up where he left off with kneeboarding. It really is so much fun and a good upper body workout, too!
Charlie was feeling important, holding some random extra rope!
Wes let Charlie take the wheel.....
...and he went nuts! He was almost steering us into 360's and was laughing his head off. We had all open water, so he was taking us all over the place.

No big deal. Just chillin, looking about 16!
Dress-up time as a super hero chef! Just a normal Saturday in our house!

They somehow have gotten the idea that they know karate. Self-taught, of course, but still feel like they are pros. It's hilarious to watch, and they aren't half-bad!

Meet the two newest males in our house. And if you're counting, that brings the total to 6 males to 1 female! Max and Roni, Ryan and Bradley's bettas joined us the first week of school. Ryan has been begging for a fish, so we finally caved. It's been about 6 weeks and they are still alive and kicking!

Over Labor Day, we headed back to Robinson Island with the Hills and had a blast. The water was so clear and the weather was gorgeous! The boys had a ton of fun, as usual!

Charlie spent most of his time filling buckets, as per usual.

Multiple trips to and from the water to help fill the buckets!
Taking a lunch break on the boat.
They decided to bury little Daniel at one point. He was a good sport about it.
We saw caught a bit of jellyfish which after a while became a deterrent from the water. A lot of us were feeling the little floating tentacles, which I didn't realize was even a thing, but then, B got stung. BAD!
Wes thinks it may have been a man-of-war, but man it was awful. I've never seen him so upset. He did bounce back, in usual B fashion. We now have meat tenderizer on hand for next time!

Apple snacks on the ride home!
I walked outside to load them up for swim practice one day and saw this! I couldn't contain myself. If you look closely, you will see a bracelet put around his ankle. I couldn't help but picture him under house arrest :)
Showing it off!
Charlie is such a sport at all of these practices. We bring trucks, DVDs, his little writing board, snacks, you name it, but he never really complains and just does his thing.

It was a whirlwind of a few couple of weeks of school, but we have now settled in a very busy routine. I wouldn't have it any other way!
