Christmas Surprise

Christmas day came and went. We got up on the 26th and after a slow morning, decided to go for a jog with plans to come home and take the kids to a movie that afternoon. Wes was rushing me more than I would have preferred, but still, I went. We got home, and just like previous days, I went to the front door to see if FedEx had come. My mom told me their packages from FedEx with the Christmas presents had been delayed due to weather, but should arrive on the 26th. Of course, they weren't there again, so I settled for a game of Clue with Ryan. Not 5 minutes into the game, the back door opened to the sounds of "Ho Ho Ho" and some bells jingling. The boys and I looked around, really confused until we realized, CoCo and Poppy were here! My dad had Wes in on the plan since Thanksgiving. They all kept it a secret as I had absolutely NO clue! I feel like it's hard to keep a secret from me, but they did such a great job. It was the best surprise!!!

The boys were ECSTATIC! They are still talking about the surprise trip a month later!
After we got settled in with some Mimosas, and the boys had figured out which sack of presents was theirs, they couldn't stand the anticipation.....
...first, some tickles!

And now, begins the craziness!

New baseball bats for the spring

Remote control racecars for everyone! You get a car....

....and you get a car!!!
Everybody gets a car!!!
Some fun, new utensils and plates. Maybe this will make them eat.....

The aftermath......
Oh, but wait, there's more!

Can you spy a Charlie?!?!

Probably their favorite gifts...
Official swim bags :) Ryan was so pumped. He just loves swimming and of course all the swag doesn't hurt either!
B was pretty stoked too!
One of B's last minute, 11th hour requests, was an orange toolbox with real tools. Luckily, CoCo made it happen. You give her a task, she will find a way to see it through. It's like a personal challenge for her! This may have been his most anticipated gift as it was top of mind over the past few weeks.
He was so cute inspecting all of the tools.

After presents, we headed over into Mobile to the Bike Shop for some of our best Mexican food options around. We had a fun week with a lot of eating, lounging, some shopping and movie watching. My mom and I took the boys to see Ferdinand one afternoon.
We had so much fun with them and it made the holidays feel more normal having family around. Being away from home just isn't the same, but it was a fun, new way to spend Christmas for sure! The 5 days seemed to go by so quickly, as they always do. They texted me when they were about to fly over, so we got to go outside and look at the plane. It was awesome!

Waving to CoCo and Poppy, haha!

Such a fun trip and way to end the holidays!
