For Christmas break, since we weren't planning to see any family, Wes took off a few days of work before Christmas and we decided to head down to the beach to get away. It just so happened to be over Bradley's 5th birthday, so it was a mini celebration as well. We headed out around lunch, picking up B's request of McD's on the way out of town. They LOVE McDonald's but I'm not a huge fan, so they don't get it too much as I usually persuade them to go to CFA!!
a happy 5 year old!
We checked into the hotel and B wanted to go down to the hot tub/heated pool. We love this Best Western Premier as they have a bunk room for the kids and everything is so nice and new!
Ready for some hot-tubbing!
After the hot tub, we got dressed and headed out to dinner. B really wanted Fisher's, but unfortunately they were already closed for Christmas. We headed to Anchor Bar, one of our other favorites, instead. After chowing down on a ton of burgers, we headed back to the room for cupcakes and presents. B had been patiently waiting all day - he was so excited!!
His very own microphone! Just what this kid needs...
Love his expressions - opening his Minecraft Lego set
You would have thought he opened a million bucks, but he has been wanting some Aftco shorts for a few months now. He was just so dang excited to get some and a new white Under Armour polo for Kinder next year! The boy loves his fashion and clothes.
He had also asked for a fun pair of Aftcos, so I think he was even more stoked when he got to this box! Camo Aftcos!!
Love this kid more than words
Trick candles :) Glad we didn't set off the smoke detectors in the hotel!!
FINALLY!!!
Cupcakes all around
Time to get ready for bed
B was so excited because we let him sleep on the top bunk. I think that just about made his weekend.
The next morning, after breakfast, we headed over to the marina as we decided to take a boat out for the day. The weather was gorgeous. I think the high was about 68-70 degrees and there were about 10 boats in the entire bay that day. So it as the perfect time to let the boys take turns driving around some.
Cute boys!
Total natural!
The wind got a little crazy and cold, so we had to start using towels as blankets!
We took about a one hour boat ride down the Intercoastal over to LuLu's for lunch. We ordered the boys some smoothie Pina Coladas and they were in Heaven!
Cheers!
Our super chilly ride back!!!
That night we went to try out a new restaurant, the Gulf, and it may be one of our new faves! It's all outside and the decor/set-up is so cool!
The blues brothers!
The birthday celebration continues
Breakfast with a view
After breakfast, we headed down to go walk around the beach before heading home.
The water was freezing, but really pretty!
Using my new portrait mode!!!

Such a fun little getaway!
