Meet the Mocks: February round-up

February was a jam-packed, fun month for us. Wes started his turnaround at work, so was pretty tied up all month, but that didn't stop us from having fun! We started out with a Mardi Gras parade in Daphne. It was the first of many insanely, random cold nights around here, but we survived. Although, the ladies and little ones ended up in the truck for the last half as we just couldn't hang.

This poor kid ended up sick after we got home that night, but he was a trooper all the way through. We had no idea he wasn't feeling well!

That Monday morning, I ended up taking Charlie to Urgent Care to have him checked. Other than a runny nose and like 102-103 fever for the entire weekend, he seemed fine, but with all the crazy flu going around, I didn't want to chance it. Luckily, it wasn't the flu and he actually was better by that afternoon. Somehow, other than this virus, we avoided all the nasty flu this season!

We had made some reference to Ryan's muscles a few times, so B had to show his off as well. I was shocked to see his little biceps popping up! All that swimming is starting to pay off.

We had a bunch of lazy weekend mornings this month while dad worked.

The 2nd graders had their adjective hat parade at school where each child picked an adjective that isn't commonly known to them and display it on a hat. Ryan chose witty.

His brothers got to come and watch. As you can see, it would have clearly been nap time and their faces show it (as did their behavior).

TNT does a fun swim practice during Mardi Gras, where the entire practice is centered around earning beads in fun ways. They then top it off with a ton of King Cake! The boys loved it.

Our preschool always goes over to the preschool next door for a parade as well. Our kids get to be the recipient of the junk. Yay! They do love it though. B sandwiched between his two best gals.

GiGi had come in town for the weekend, which was a Godsend. We loved having her, especially during Mardi Gras, and I welcomed another adult in the house with me!!! Wes and I were able to go to a Mardi Gras ball that night with some friends and he had his first day off the following day in 2 weeks.

Thank goodness for GiGi - she completely took the boys the following day so we could sleep in and go to lunch. They got creative with stuff to do upstairs so they didn't disturb us!

She took them to the movies and bookstore while we went to lunch.

That Monday, Wes had to get back to the grind, so GiGi and I took the boys down to Fairhope for pizza and the parade.

The beads and throws were flying at a pretty fast speed. Charlie got smart and started to protect his head, but still wanted to catch stuff!

She helped them make me a Valentine's gift bag complete with coupons for future chores and a bunch of sweet treats. So thoughtful!!

With Bradley getting more interested in learning sight words, Charlie has started picking up more books that he "reads." I love it.

Ryan and Bradley attended a puppet workshop at the church and had the best time.

They made these puppets and got to perform a song with them for the parents at the end.

We had Ryan's end of season basketball party at Trattoria and the boys had a blast.

The preschool took a field trip to Prodisee Pantry where they were able to bag toilet paper for families that would come pick them up along with groceries later in the week.
