It seemed like once the holidays wrapped up, we kept going full speed ahead into the new year. Our local donut shop will make you a free bubble tea with good grades, so we stopped by, finally, to get Ryan's one afternoon.
He's been begging and begging, so he was thrilled to finally get it. It's the little things.
Charlie started a thing where he wants to sit out on the steps before the kids get home from school to wait for the boys. I'll let him go out there 5-10 min before and he'll usually take a snack with him. It's pretty cute because he'll start asking me sometimes an hour and a half beforehand when they're going to be home; he definitely misses them during the day.

I figured by Jan 10th, it was time to take down the Christmas cards! I love having them up throughout the season by our back door, so we see all of our family and friends everyday when we pass by! It always seems naked once I take them down.
The Liberty Legacy program wrapped up in the new year. Ryan's hometown hero that he nominated was selected to receive an award. He came up with it all on his own. He came home one afternoon and told me he was planning to nominate his swim coach for the award.
I was so proud of him that he not only thought about honoring him, but asked him, and prepared a little write-up on why he admired him.
His coach was so honored to be asked and the whole exchange was very sweet.

That weekend, we made the trek back to Houston for Aunt Allie's wedding. We checked the kids out of school on Thursday after lunch and started the 8 hour journey.
We spent the night with CoCo and Poppy after arriving pretty late. We hung out the next day with Harris and had some Mexican food! That evening, we headed to the rehearsal dinner while they kept the boys and went to dinner with Scoot, Alissa, and Harris.
We headed out to Katy after lunch on Saturday to get ready for the wedding. My sweet little 3 looking sharp!
The wedding was at a venue out past Katy that some Aggies opened and it was so beautiful.

Ryan was asked to bring up the rings during the ceremony, and he did such a great job. He took his role very seriously and it was precious.

The grounds were just incredibly beautiful. We got so lucky with this weather in the middle of winter, it could not have been more gorgeous.

So we went back to just the 3 for a bit.

They had the best time and made it all the way until the end of the night. Sunday morning, we woke up and they brought Henry over for breakfast to hang out for a bit before having to head back to Houston.
It was a short and quick trip, but it was a lot of fun and we all really enjoyed the time with our families.
