On Christmas Eve, we opted to not do any of the fun traditions with Ryan due to his fear of Santa. I didn't want to stress him out since he despises him so much. So we didn't do cookies, or read Christmas stories, or anything related to Christmas because I knew he would stay up forever worrying about Santa coming to our house and not sleep a wink. So, we put him to bed and Wes finished assembling his gifts. Santa brought him a Police Station/Fire Station because he knew how much Ryan loved playing with the "doll houses" at both grandparent's houses. Santa figured he could use something a little more masculine. He also brought a shopping cart with a bunch of play food since he is still so into his kitchen as well as a few little puzzles, movies, books, etc.
When Ryan woke up Christmas morning, we told him that Santa had come and left him presents. He immediately burst out into a crazy fit running all over the house screaming and half-crying. Until he finally got up the courage to go into the living room and see his presents, he was not a happy camper. When he walked in, his first comment was "Did Santa bring my blue fire truck and castle?" NOPE. But he seemed to be pretty content with what he did receive. He now is obsessed with his "station."
My mom found the cutest little Santa suit for Bradley, so we captured a few shots of brotherly love in action. Ryan loves to hold him on the "blue pillow." He is definitely a proud big brother and loves to show him off to whoever comes over.
Wes' family came over for Christmas lunch. It was so nice because they brought everything, so all we had to do was sit back and relax! Our lil Santa baby!
There was a lot of this taking place.....
....and more of this.....
Ryan loved putting the bows on his head :) He got a sweet fishing pole and gear from GiGi as well as a TON of cars, tractors, buses, you name it! He was definitely spoiled this Christmas from all parties, but I guess he deserved it! He was pretty good this year.He was so hyped up after Wes' family left, that he definitely did NOT take a nap, but he did lie down for about an hour and a half. My family came over late that afternoon and luckily Ryan's mood was unaffected by the lack of sleep. I think he ran on pure adrenaline all day. We had a low-key dinner and opened a ton of gifts again. Apparently Santa told CoCo and Poppy about the castle Ryan wanted because it showed up and boy was he excited! He has now set up this little town in his playroom where he takes people in all of his cars between the station and the castle. He LOVES to play pretend.
Lots of loot
Stockings make nice hats
We had a wonderful Christmas this year and loved having Bradley here to share it with us (even though he slept right through it all). Definitely loving our family of four and look forward to next year :)
