Ryan finished up his second year at St. Luke's Day school two weeks ago. I had every intention of doing a last day of school pic, but trying to get out of the house with both kids fed, dressed, lunch packed, and my teeth brushed trumped the pic on this day. Oh well, here is a comparison with a pic from his end of year party. He looks like a baby to me in the first pic. Crazy what a difference 9 months makes.
We absolutely loved his class and teachers this year. He had a few friends from last year in his class and made some great new friends, too. His little bff/girlfriend won't be at the school next year :( Not sure how Ryan is going to cope without her.
Ryan really has grown up so much during this past year. He just loves going to school now and always looks forward to playing with his friends and seeing his teachers. He comes home with new songs that he has learned, new stories, has so much fun in motor class, and not to mention, had a ton of help getting potty trained by his teachers.

In other Ryan related news, he has been a trip recently. He cracks us up all day, every day here lately. I have been doing the Insanity workout videos, and he has become obsessed. Talk about an accountability partner. He asks me everyday if we are going to do our exercises and refers to Shaun T multiple times per day. He attempts most of the exercises and has recently mastered leg raises, lunges, and power jumps. I am impressed! He even corrects Wes when he is doing it. We have been trying to eat healthier as well, and surprisingly, Ryan is trying to follow suit. He recently has been asking to eat what we eat (instead of grilled chicken 5 nights a week). He has been eating zucchini, pork, redfish, and a hamburger! Luckily, kids are so easily influenced, that when I say things like "that is too much sugar and you will get cavities" or "eat this to make you big and strong," he complies! Not sure how long this will last.
He has been saying the funniest stuff as well. He has started calling everyone "snake." I am not too sure why, but he says it in a somewhat rude tone (even though he is just trying to be funny), so we have started to minimize the number of times he can use it per day. He also tells people to "go away dragon, don't bother me." Not sure where this came from either. In the morning, he always tells me that his "eyes are froggy" (foggy) when he comes stumbling out of his bedroom, it's cute! Not sure if everyone was aware, but we have an undiscovered body part that Ryan found. It's the part behind the knee, he has informed us that is our "tankles."
What takes the cake, is about 2 weeks ago, he told me he would like a baby sister. He said his friend, Caroline, has one so he would like one as well. He has since then asked about it every few days and then inquired as to how we get one in my tummy and when she will be here. After we explained that there isn't one and that we need time to enjoy both he and Bradley, he hasn't been as insistent about it. We were at a baby shower last weekend and he just randomly said to someone the he was getting a baby sister. They looked at us a little funny and then looked at Bradley and started to say "uh, but I thought this was a...." Yes, it is a boy we had to chime in and inform them. It was a little awkward. Despite his rosy cheeks and porcelain skin, he is all boy!
With our time away from school for a bit, we have really started to work with him on recognizing numbers and letters. I think in the past few weeks he now knows, A, B, J, K, M, O, P, R, and U. We told him once he got to 10 we would buy him a new movie, so he has some motivation. He is also very interested in knowing which day of the week it is. Every morning he asks, "so, mommy what day is this?" It gets a little old, but I know he is just inquisitive. He's just not gotten the hang of it yet, but I know he eventually will :)
He has been like such a little kid lately, it's crazy how fast they grow up! I sure do love them :)
