We arrived on Friday around lunch and immediately took Ryan down to the beach. Unfortunately, his little mind is always thinking (over-thinking really) and he gets really worked up over things he can not quite understand or comprehend. He thought we were going to get lost in the ocean and did not want us in the water. He worries so much, it makes me sad for him (Wes and I were both the same way as kids, so he's got it bad!). Needless to say, he would not less us really get in the water, so we just stuck to playing in the sand on the beach.
I think this was the only time he actually got "in" the water at the beach.
Luckily, the house comes with daily membership to the Galveston Country Club, so we were able to take advantage of the pool both days and let him swim. It took some warming up, but he came around and was excited to swim. We have been doing lessons for about 15 months now and he has really gotten good at swimming during swim class. Well, this past week, we went to a friends house to swim and he kind of panicked and couldn't remember what to do. So, now he thinks he doesn't know how to swim. By the end of the weekend, he was at least back to jumping off of the side and making some attempts to swim. B got all dressed up in his swim gear, too.
What a stud!
He loved the water and was really relaxed. The second day was a little chilly for him, so he didn't stay in too long.
Uncle Jon and Megan babysitting B.
Since the girls were enjoying some fruity cocktails, Ryan needed one too. He had a strawberry smoothie (or smovie as he called them) and would always try and order them from the waitress every time she would walk by.
GiGi rented a golf cart for the weekend to roam around the neighborhood. Ryan loved going on buggy rides.
Bradley is a worker, or worker B as we refer to him. He has been so funny lately just "working" on everything he can get his hands on. Whether it is his lovey, my watch, a remote, the arms on the couches, you name it, he will just inspect, touch, play, etc. with any and all objects. It's cute and not to mention, can provide minutes of entertainment!
We spent the evenings cooking dinner and playing Cornhole and Mexican train. We also roasted smores one night and it was a huge hit with Ryan.
Ryan helping Uncle Jon shave for some pics.
Gigi and her boys relaxing and reading some books.
Love this lil foot. B napped on the beach Sunday morning while Ryan, GiGi, Jon, and Wes built some elaborate sandcastles with a moat and all.
We had such a nice, relaxing weekend. The weather was perfect and B actually slept better there than he does at home. Must be something in the sea breeze! We are already planning when we can take them back again. Can't wait til next year!!
