We got in on Friday around lunchtime and met up with the Zakarians and Correas. We found a house on VRBO and crammed all 6 adults, 3 babies, and a toddler into 1400 sq. feet. We decided to go check out the beach which was about 5 minutes from our house. It was perfect. Clean beaches, cool water that you could actually get in and swim around, and not too crowded. This is the first time in probably 5+ beach trips where he would get in the water. He has always been overwhelmed by the vast size of the ocean, thinking we will get lost, but I think with everyone else around this time, he decided he would try it. The babies spent most of the time under the tent, but would get in for a few minutes here and there and splash around in the water.
We headed back to the house that afternoon and took a dip in the pool which we loved having right in our backyard to use everyday. We spent the evenings eating way too much, enjoying some adult beverages, playing games and just relaxing once the kids went to bed. Unfortunately, with the rooms all sharing walls, when one kid would wake up, usually another one followed. It definitely wasn't ideal, but we all made do and although a little tired in the early mornings, I think we would all do it again next year, just in a bigger house!
We headed back to the beach both Saturday and Sunday mornings. It was so relaxing and definitely wore the babies out. We ended up taking them on walks down the beach to put them down for naps which worked perfectly and allowed us to stay at the beach longer.

The beach and the pool definitely wore the kids out. B would take 3 naps a day and long ones at that, and Ryan was pretty worn out as well. He slept in an air mattress on the floor in our room and definitely ended up in our bed every morning. B actually did well in the pack n play, too. Considering he doesn't sleep in one often, we were a little nervous but he did just fine. I wanted to get a few family pics since I think the last one we had was in January. So of course, nothing ever goes as planned, but oh well. The sun was super bright, there was a crazy sea breeze and Ryan refused to smile. Luckily, Manuel was kind enough to take them and put up with Ryan's attitude.

Ryan probably had the best time out of anyone on the trip. He just loves taking trips and going places. He decided his new BFF was Manuel and literally followed him around everywhere. He made the guys take off their shirts in the evenings, as did he, and thought it was the coolest thing ever. In fact, it was his favorite part of the trip. And for not having anyone there his age, he was pretty much entertained the entire time. Monday morning, we packed up to head out. We had to wait a while for the ferry this time, so by the time we hit the road, B man was out. About an hour and a half into the trip, Ryan said he needed some water, well fast forward 10 seconds later and he literally lost his breakfast all over the truck. And by all over, I mean from his carseat to the windshield. We are not sure if he choked on the water or got car sick (he had been watching the iPad and playing games for the entire trip, so I am assuming the latter), but luckily we were 1 minute from a gas station, so we pulled over and got everything cleaned up and got back on the road. Other than the car smelling for the next two hours, we made it home safe and sound and exhausted!
It was such a fun trip, we are already looking forward to going back next year!!!
