17 months - CJM

A few days late posting, but better late than never. Charlie is just crazy these days. There's no other way to describe him but INSANE. He is bursting at the seams with personality and energy, the kid just doesn't stop. I know I have described him as wild in the past, but now that he is full on running, he is unstoppable. He is such a ham, too. He loves to laugh and loves to make you laugh. I feel like he's known from such a young age what is funny and find that pretty fascinating. He loves hiding and playing peek-a-boo, running around in capes and hats, sitting on stoops or on top of any box, table, etc. he can find. He lives on the edge! His favorite act of danger he performs on a daily basis is running from couch cushion to cushion and turning 360's while running. He knows he isn't supposed to be doing this, so he will bury his head in a pillow, then peak up at me with a huge grin and then throw his head right back down (as if I didn't see what he just did!).

He loves climbing the stairs. Any mention of going upstairs, even if it is naptime, he rushes over to the gate and will climb on it and shake it. He just can't wait to climb!
Trying to help us place some ornaments :)

This is how dad rolls with Charlie when mom is out of town (I'm pretty impressed he put the cart cover on, I never do!).
This kid has no rhyme or reason as to how or how much he is going to eat. He preference would be to only eat all meals while on the go, running around the kitchen/living room, picking food off of the boys plates. He eats his best when not seated at the highchair. He will eat almost anything if it is off of someone elses plate or if he is able to use utensils. He is really into forks and spoons at the moment, even when it comes to playing pretend in the toy kitchen. Notice the intensity in this video.
And he's insanely messy with just about whatever he eats. I can't complain too much because he will eat a lot of different types of foods. There's just a lot of clean up involved afterwards. His favorite foods right now are probably cherry tomatoes, crackers, chocolate, eggs, PBJ, marcona almonds, and fruit. He will usually try whatever we are eating for dinner as well. Recently he ate chicken pesto over spaghetti squash like it was no big deal. He has a major sweet tooth and knows where we keep the goodies. Unfortunately, they are in plain sight. So when he is hungry he just goes over to the counter and points and screams at it like a maniac. He gets so mad when I won't give him Reese's at 10 am!!

He is all boy for sure. He loves his cars, trains, and anything with wheels. He will just roll them back and forth and crawl around moving them on the ground. He has really started playing with the train table as well.

He's almost to the age where coloring at restaurants will keep him busy. He wants to be big so badly and will try so hard, but the coordination isn't too great yet. He also loves trying to eat the crayons (especially the brown ones because I am guessing he thinks they are chocolate)! You would think he would have learned after 5 or so times of this happening that they don't taste too good!

Loving on his daddy.
Being a ham again, eating toes!

He's become quite a bit more vocal over the last few weeks as well. He says just about all of our names, cracker, et go ("let's go" and then proceeds to run to the door and beg to go out), ouch, bo bo (because bobos and ouchies are a common occurrence with this reckless child; it is really insane the number of falls this kids has), and he can repeat just about anything you say.
He still naps twice a day on most days with 2 hours in the morning around 11 and then about an hour around 4 pm. He's in bed by 8:30 and is usually up around 7:45-8. Still in size 4 diapers, 18 months clothes, super long and lean, and lots of teeth. He's a really happy kid and just loves life!!
