We continued our busy spring with more sports and activities and Easter and Spring Break thrown into the mix in April. Here are the boys one night after soccer practice. It was hard to capture the chaos, but my car looked like we were living out of it with towels, swim and soccer bags, pizza boxes, trash, etc. You name it, it was probably in there somewhere.
Kinder took a field trip down in Fairhope to the Sea, Sand, and Stars facility. I wasn't able to attend, but some sweet moms sent me the cutest pictures! Of course, here are B and Barrett loving on each other!
They all partnered up and it turned out to be the cutest picture.
Looking for creatures.
Taking their task very seriously.
There isn't much sweeter than two buds who get along so wonderfully.
Mrs. Gipson's class. They had just the best time!
We had our annual Bidding of the Bulls fundraiser for the elementary school, and had such a great time, as always!
The next morning came real early, ha! We had soccer and someone wasn't feeling himself.
Even though he wasn't his usual self, he played pretty well!
Ryan has really come into his own with soccer. He's pretty aggressive and not afraid to get in the mix to try and steal the ball away!
Well turns out, he wasn't faking it. He tried hard to power through and playing superheros, but even the strongest of heroes need their rest!
He crashed so hard, you can see his sweaty hair!
After a while, I realized he wasn't going anywhere, so I took the mask off so he could rest more peacefully.
Sorry for the overload, but have to document the sweetness of this.
Turns out, he was legitimately sick with a little tummy bug and was running high fever. The next day, we did more of the same. The boys had their TNT Short Course awards dinner where they get their shirt and Coach Jan discusses the season in review.
He highlighted how both the 8 and under boys and girls teams won the Southeastern championship at their meet in Pensacola back in February. This was only the 3rd or 4th time this has happened for TNT, so it was a pretty big deal. Ryan placed 3rd overall for highpoint following his two teammates (pictured here) who took 1st and 2nd.
Here's the team as a whole.
I had to get one more year out of these cute shirts for Easter!
I'm not sure what prompted this, but he wanted a picture with this pose!
My sweet lil bunny
One of B's nice hits this season!
Best buds
And they're off.....for their egg hunt
Didn't want to stop for the pic!
Charlie and Hudson are pretty inseparable. Even though they won't be going to school together next year since Charlie is going to preschool for an extra year, they will still see plenty of each other as they actually just moved across the street from us.
Apparently, it was tuck your shirt in for skate day because all the "cool bros" do it! Who knew?!
We got rid of our lawn service earlier in the year, and once Ryan turned 9, we figured he was old enough to start mowing. He actually caught on pretty quickly and has done a decent job. He now earns $5 for each good mow.
The boys swam one long course swim meet this season with TNT. It was their first experience with a 50 m pool, and they were quite nervous at first. We had been talking about it all week and I was answering all of their questions about it. As it turns out, they actually enjoyed swimming the longer distances. This was Ryan's first meet to graduate from 25's to 50's and 100's so it was a big jump all around for him.
This is how the boys pass most of the time during the meets!
The 8 & under boys relay. Come to find out the following week, there was never a recorded time for the team for this relay, so they automatically became the record holders for the medley relay. Two of the boys were aging up within days and weeks and are very fast, so who knows, this record may stick around for a bit! Buzz was so pumped, they got a team pin and he was so proud of it. He has it displayed on his swim bag!
They both swam the 50 back and did awesome! Bradley, who doesn't love backstroke, kept right up there with the other 7 and 8 year olds.
Ryan, also did pretty amazing. He made a BB time for the 10 year old boys time standards for the very first time he swam it!
Always the best spectator!
CoCo and Poppy arrived on the second day of the meet, so they got to see the boys swim some of the meet.I just love watching this little nugget swim. He is so determined, and the fact he can do all 4 strokes near perfect as a 6 year old amazes me.
Ryan is also extremely disciplined and it's been paying off. He barely missed the BB time in the 50 free by a few tenths. I can't wait to see them swim a few more long course meets next summer!
One of the favorite things we did while they were in town, was go play indoor glow in the dark putt putt. We had such a fun time, and the boys have been begging to go back!
We went bowling and play arcades another day. Charlie was having all sorts of luck on the claw machines with the ticket rolls!
More progress in the herb garden. This was probably at the peak of the season because a few weeks later, it got too hot and the basil and bell peppers didn't do too well then.
We spent another day over the break at the movies, which the boys always love because they get to consume all sorts of junk!
I just happened to come across this on the road one day and was so surprised! I waited for it to cross the road to get back to its natural habitat, but that thing was huge!
We spent a few more evenings and Saturdays at the soccer fields!
We have really been into puzzles this year. Charlie has gotten so good at them, we've graduated to nothing less than 500 pieces. This one in particular was 1000 and I think we finished it in 3 days!
Buzz's hair had gotten OUT OF CONTROL by the end of the month. We were about to head to Christina and Ricky's wedding and decided it was time to control this mop! Got a nice before pic of him.
Seriously, looking very clown-ish right here!
And the after.... and he also looks 3 years older in a matter of 15 minutes!
A little side by side comparison.
Later that week, we headed back to Texas for the wedding. Recap coming soon!
