March was full of soccer and baseball with a nice Mardi Gras break thrown in the mix.
Here's Charlie practicing his bible verse for the month!
We kicked off the month with Buzz and the Kindergarten crew celebrating Dr. Seuss' birthday. He was ecstatic about this wig at first and when it came time for the big day, he wasn't too stoked about wearing it. He said it was embarrassing.
But he looked pretty cool and at the last minute, decided to be Thing 2 and not Thing 1 (the necklace was reversible!).
Taking their places
It was such a cute program
Bradley had a speaking role which he was pretty excited about.
Poor thing couldn't see at all!
Here are a few of their songs
B and B!
Charlie wanted to dress the part for the performance.
We went to our first official Mardi Gras parade in Mobile before the holiday break started. The floats definitely are more elaborate and there are a lot more people, but it was fun.
Excited for his loot
They crashed pretty hard on the way home. This kid never, ever falls asleep outside of bedtime in his own bed, so I knew he was exhausted!
We have found a new BBQ joint that we LOVE down in Fairhope called TexarBama and we love it! It's one of the only places with brisket around here and not to mention, Dublin Dr. Pepper!
One of our favorite places to take the kids for a bite to eat is at the Container Park right by our house. The kids have tons to do between Jenga and hula hooping. They definitely stay entertained!
Ryan, surprisingly, was into the dancing. Buzz was running all over the gym, eating candy, finding basketballs, but Ryan decided to take part in some line dancing and I was even able to steal a few dances with him.
Intently learning a few line dances!
Such a sweet group of boys and their mommas.
Such a fun, sweet night!
Sunsets at Trione park are always amazing.
I started making a cauliflower rice stir fry for dinner and one night, Charlie wanted to try it. Fast forward a few days and not only did he start eating it, but so did the rest of the family. It has now become a weekly staple around here.
Spring picture day for B's kinder class
Looking and feeling the part for soccer practice.
Science experiments with Mrs. Gipson
We broke Charlie out of school one Friday when Wes was off work to go downtown in Mobile to one of our favorite spots, Roosters. Charlie guzzled one of their authentic Mexican juices.
Must have been picture day for him, as well! Last preschool pic from SFUMP!
Cheers to the weekend!
Finally got the herbs planted, so wanted to start taking some pictures to document growth!
Our resident gardener
Just admiring his handy work and picking out his next piece of mint to chew on!
Every spring, Spanish Fort sports puts on opening day ceremonies for the baseball season. It's pretty cute because all of the kids wear their jerseys and then get to walk on the field as their team is called out and give high fives to the high school players.
So serious!
Sweet group of boys
B's coach from last spring picked him in the draft along with some other returning friends, so it made for a fun season with familiar faces.
The next morning was picture day for soccer. It was freezing, dreary, and rainy. So, the kids, needless to say, were in great moods and clearly wanted to sit still and smile for pictures!
Trying to force a smile for his first sporting game EVER.....
....but this is how he truly felt.
One last attempt!
Game time
He didn't score any goals, and a lot of times wasn't even turned in the right direction, but did make a few touches so we'll call it a win!
Cardinal huddle after their first game!
A selfie with my tiniest cuddler!
We spent many a Tuesday and Thursday in this very scenario. We would go to swim practice from 4-5, go pick up Little Cesar's pizza, change into uniforms in the back of the car, drive over to the soccer fields for Charlie's practice in which B and Ryan ate dinner. Then, Wes would come meet me there to either take some kids home or more often than not, get B to his t-ball game. One of us would stay for Ryan's soccer practice while Charlie then ate dinner. We'd all get home around 8:15, shower and go to bed! I wouldn't trade it for the world, but can't say I was too sad when it wrapped up and we got a few evenings back! One of our good friends' husband, who also happen to be Aggies from Texas, is in the Coast Guard. Sydney was one of B's first friends we made when we moved here as they were in the same preschool class. They ended up in the same Kinder class as well, so when her dad came to visit the elementary school, they got an up-close and personal tour of the helicopter and learned all about the Coast Guard. B thought it was just incredible!
Snapped a happier pre-game face of the Skipper.
Not sure if I have explained his new nickname that came about this spring, but he and Bradley went through a Barbie phase on Netflix. They watched all of the shows and Charlie took to the character, Skipper. He then demanded a self-proclaimed nickname of Skipper sometimes shortened to Skip. Well, his coach heard us calling him that one practice, and ever since referred to him as Skipper. It was pretty humorous all season to hear him calling for him during games as Skipper.
Team pic day for the Cardinals. I snapped and cropped my own picture this year!
One particular evening, B had the game of his life. He was put in as pitcher for 2 innings and made 4 outs, 3 of which were in the same inning.
Once he got the hang of it, he became robotic and just knew what to do. It was pretty funny and awesome!
Needless to say, he received the game ball and was on cloud 9 for the entire week!
A typical Skip face before his game!
Goofing around while Ryan had his game. He's wearing Ryan's sweatshirt, so his arms look particularly long.
His daily check-in on the herb garden!
Caught ya!
I had to bribe him to leave the playground after school one day so we could go to the grocery store and this is what it cost me. He's spoiled rotten, that's for sure.
At the end of the month, we went to a friend's birthday party that was hosted in their backyard. It was probably the neatest kids party mine have ever been to. They have a ninja warrior course set up back there at all times, and added a few obstacles for the party.
the Zipline was a MAJOR hit with my boys.
They also had a slackline and a full blown obstacle course set up for the boys to "compete" on one at a time.
This was their new addition that they recently added and I thought it was pretty clever.
This kid is all boy and loves the outdoors like no one I've ever met. He even jokes how he could live outside and I believe he could survive just fine!
The last Sunday of the month was preschool Sunday at church where the kids came up and sang a few songs they had been working on.
We went to one of the boys' favorite brunch spots, Sugar Kettle, after church and Ryan wanted a pic to show off his little faux hawk!!
Apparently Charlie found these in the garage one day and decided he was the next Rocky!
Always ready to fight!
Definitely a jam packed, fun-filled month with these guys!
