Ryan's 5th Birthday Party

Ryan had his birthday party this year at Westwood Gymnastics. It's a fun gymnastics place near our neighborhood where he has visited quite a few times for other friends' birthday parties and playdates. I love having parties at places like this where it is just turnkey. We provide food, decor, drinks, cake, etc. and they set it all up and take it all down. It always makes it much more enjoyable and we can just spend time with the kids. Ryan has really been into Superheroes this year, so it made for a fitting theme for the party. He had a few friends' parties in the weeks leading up to his which made him all the more excited for his party. He has a school calendar this hangs on our fridge, and as soon as March 1st came around, he was marking off every single day as soon as he woke up in the morning. All the way through March 28th - it was a long month, needless to say.

We came a few minutes early to set-up and snap a few pics before the party started.

 The kids had a blast which was apparent by the end from their red cheeks and sweaty bodies!

Then they headed over to the foam pit where they were discussing how they were going to popcorn Ryan. I think the kids loved this part the most.

They had each kid lie very still and stiff on the trampoline, then on the count of 3 the coach would bounce them as high as possible and catch them mid-air. They looked like they were levitating.

The looks on their faces while doing it was priceless.

B was a little slow to warm-up but once he started going, he had the time of his life. He participated in just about everything and had a ball.

He even wanted to try the popcorn trick. The coach said this was the youngest kid he had ever had try it! I thought for sure he would chicken out, but....

 Nope! He was all about it and even came back for more. Our little daredevil.

 The kids then made their way over to the castle which is by far the most exciting part of the party!

Next up was pizza and cake time

Ryan always gets a little shy when he is center of attention, This time was no different except it ended in a little burned finger. Ryan picked up the candle after blowing it out and got a little hot wax on him.

After a few tears and some ice, he recovered and was able to devour his cake, with his mouth. No fork necessary.

 Little bro joined in on the action as well.

I think everyone had a great time and Ryan even said afterwards - "it seemed short!" Guess that is a sign of a good party. He's lucky to have such sweet friends. We headed home afterwards with our families, where he opened all 25+ gifts in a matter of about 20 minutes. Haha. Another fun party in the books :)
