Panama City Beach trip

We decided earlier in the year, that since we had just moved here right before Ryan's birthday, it may be hard to have a birthday party for him. We didn't know too many people, so we opted to forgo a birthday party and go for a long weekend to Florida and get a place on the beach. We let the boys miss a Friday of school and headed down Thursday evening. We loaded up and headed out......for about 20 minutes. We had been on I-10 for a whole 7 minutes before turning around to Bradley vomiting uncontrollably in the back seat. We immediately pulled off the road to handle the situation. We basically had nothing handy to clean it up. We used every wipe we had on hand, stripped him of his clothes and tried our best to clean out his car seat. Needless to say, the rest of the ride was a little smelly. This is how Bradley endured the next 2 plus hours.
We finally made it to Panama City later that evening, after a stop at Zoe's Kitchen in Pensacola, which we dearly miss as we don't have one within 30 minutes of us in Spanish Fort. Once we arrived, we realized we were on the 23rd floor. Not my favorite for 3 little ones, but it did provide an awesome view!

It's crazy how just one additional hour from our Alabama beaches provides even more gorgeous water and beaches! The water was actually pretty warm for mid-May and the waves were a little more calm than down in Gulf Shores/OB. It took us a while that morning to get out of the condo because both B and Ryan woke up with fever, then they both started having tummy troubles. Once we got the boys under control, we headed down for a couple of hours!

Not a bad way to spend a Friday!!!
My main man!
No matter how bad they may be feeling, it's nothing a little sunshine and sand can't cure!
Doing what they do best. Filling up buckets with water and digging huge holes in the sand!

This lil guy was all smiles! Surprisingly, he didn't get the little tummy bug the others had. I'm really not sure how he escaped it because I can recall him drinking out of both of their cups that exact day!

His infamous, "don't take any pics of me!" face
The condo had some boogey boards which were a lot of fun. Even Charlie was all about it!

Wes would load him up on top of the board and then release him into the wave

 Back at it!

Buzz had to take a few breaks from the sun as he clearly wasn't feeling 100%
That evening, after some late naps, we headed down near Rosemary/Seaside for dinner. It took a LOT longer than expected, so by the time we got home, it was bedtime for us all! The next morning, everyone was feeling MUCH better, so we were able to have one long day at the beach. Not to mention, the weather was just gorgeous!
I just asked Ryan to turn around for a picture, and this is how he posed! My little Alabama man! He has definitely embraced the culture without a doubt.
He's definitely getting the hang of riding the waves

Another beautiful day
Some tandem boogey board riding

Look what washed up on the shore

He insists on filling up his bucket and carrying it himself, even if it is only holding 2 inches of water in it.

Bradley finally got up the courage to go ride some waves with Wes. He's been a bit apprehensive of the beach this year. The waves and currents kind of scare him, but as he has greatly improved in his swimming skills, he's gained some more confidence in the ocean.

 He's clearly proud of himself!
Since they were having so much fun at the beach, we decided to try naps on the beach chairs. They were out within a matter of minutes!

B started waking up after about an hour

Charlie bear kept snoozin

When he woke up, he was rearing to go, back to digging.

Only pic of me and the boys from the weekend

I brought my nice camera in hopes of some family pics one evening. Well, we got all dressed and headed down before dinner. The wind picked up quickly, the clouds formed, and we got about 5 minutes in before the weather started getting bad.

This captures the essence of B!
A few of these turned out pretty cute

Took a few of Ryan as well since he would stand still

Then, he started being funny, showing us his "dab" moves

By the time we tried to get some with me in it, the camera wouldn't stay un-fogged and the wind was crazy! We headed to dinner instead and decided to try again next time. We booked a trip in September to head to Rosemary Beach, so maybe we can try again then! We had an awesome time, despite the brief illness. We headed back the next day as the weather wasn't that great anyway. We are definitely loving having so many beautiful beaches just a short drive away. The boys clearly seem to share our love for the sun, sand, and water!
