This big guy turned 4 in July! He's been looking forward to his birthday probably since Ryan's birthday as he's wanted to be 4 for so long, counting down the months, weeks, and days! He's been acting like a 4 year old for quite sometime, so it didn't feel like such a big change to me.
His birthday party wasn't for about 2 weeks until after his birthday, so we planned a fun day to celebrate him on his actual day. Started with opening a few presents.
They learned to play Exploding Kittens while in Florida, so he was pumped to get a game for "himself!"
Cue the major excitement. A new tank top!!!
Lots of twisting and groaning involved, but he gets it done.

He's such a smart little boy. It's amazing to see how his brain works. He's so perceptive and can sense moods and emotions so well. He's really big on how you say things or if you don't respond. He will call me out on not completely listening to him or if I said something in a mean voice. He's extremely sensitive and in touch with his and others' emotions.
He can also be really hard on himself when it comes to achieving tasks. Whether it's writing his letters and name, accomplishing a task, completing a puzzle, learning to swim - he just puts a lot of undue pressure on himself. He had a sub one day in preschool, and she picked up on that very thing in just one day. It can also cause him to get down on himself if he's not able to achieve something he wants, which results in a lot of frustration for everyone. I'm happy he wants to succeed, but it can be hard to watch, too! He does celebrate his little victories as well. Lately, he has been keeping a running list of things he has learned how to do that he is proud of. The list includes, opening Halo oranges, putting his straw in his juicebox, opening the applesauce twist tops, opening his Cliffbars, pressing the pause button the the TV remote, putting on his socks and his shoes, and hopping on one foot. It's pretty cute because it's like he has a running list in his head at all times.
He's probably the best eater of the three. He's pretty willing to try anything and likes most things we eat. He LOVES green beans. They are probably his favorite veggie. Others include carrots, broccoli, cherry tomatoes, sweet potatoes, zucchini, spaghetti squash, cucumbers, all fruits, loves fish and shrimp. He also loves what most kids love including Chick-Fila, french fries, sweet drinks as he calls them, cookies, ice cream, Cheezits, the usual.
This is the face he makes when he doesn't want to take a picture or he's mad at us about something.
I took him to his 4 year check-up where he handled his 4 year old shots like a champ. He didn't flinch or shed a tear.

Height - 42 in. (81st %)
Weight - 37 lbs (57th %)
He currently wears size 4t tops and 3t-4t bottoms depending on the brand. His favorite attire is usually Under Armour unless I force him into nicer clothes. He goes through flip flops like water. I think he went through 3 pair over the summer as that's all he ever wanted to wear. He napped off and on throughout the summer, but I never wanted it to hold us back, so he kind of got out of the habit of it when school started. Since he and B share a room, I find that if he naps, he has a hard time going to bed usually keeping B up. So maybe once a week, I'll make him take a nap just to catch up if I can tell that he's run down. He normally goes to bed at 8:30 pm and wakes up around 7:30/8 am.
I was so proud of him for trying swim team this summer. He went from lessons with Carol and being uneasy in the water, to swimming freely and even doing freestyle and backstroke by the end of the season. He's a little fish just like his brothers and loves his new found freedom in the water!
I love his lust for life. One of my favorite things about him is his love/need for being aggravated as he calls it. He is obsessed with being pinned down and tickled. He loves to wrestle with Wes and looks forward to it almost every evening. When we take him up to bed, he will go lay sprawled out on the bed with his arms above his head, waiting on Wes to get up there and tickle him. The kid is happy, go lucky and always up for just about anything.
He's a pretty independent player. He has no problem pulling out all of his Paw Patrol gear and just playing make believe with it. He will just start puzzles and do about 10 before he gets bored. He still enjoys the Magna Tiles as well. He has become more into us reading to him and he does enjoy laying in our bed and watching shows during rest time.
