This summer, my family had planned a trip to come visit us back in June. It was the first time my brother and his family had come to see us, so the boys were anxiously counting down the days until Harris was coming to spend the night. The kids hadn't seen each other in 6 months, but they jumped right into hugs all around. B was probably the most excited and pretty much stalked Harris the entire week.
When they all arrived, we headed to Moe's BBQ for lunch.
It was so sweet to see cousins playing together and we found out that another one was on the way come next February!
Love seeing them altogether!
being such a big boy
Charlie's go to face when we doesn't want to take a pic!
The next morning, we got up and packed to head to the beach for the day.
We loaded up the boat and headed out to Robinson Island in Orange Beach.
Ryan and Uncle Scoot throwing the football around
We had some lunch on the beach and then decided to head home. Apparently, our boys were just as tired as Harris!
Dinner at R & R seafood that evening. B wouldn't let Harris out of his sight.
We packed up that night for the rest of the trip to be spent in Watercolor! Ryan rode with Scoot and Alissa to the beach, and they made a pitstop for ice cream on the way!
After settling into the house, we got the kids squared away with the sitter and the adults headed out for a dinner at Bud & Alley's rooftop. It was such a gorgeous night with a beautiful sunset.
The food was great and it had such a fun atmosphere, definitely want to go back!
Loved spending some time together without all the little ones running crazy!
We got to enjoy a few fun days on the beach.
The weather was absolutely perfect and the water was beautiful, as always. We were worried because the forecast predicted rain all 4 days we were there, and I think we got one evening rainstorm for maybe an hour.
The kids love to boogey board!
B stalking Harris, again!
Looking not so little these days!
Perfect view from the Watercolor club. I didn't realize just how cute Watercolor is as a town. It has its own beach club with a pool and restaurants, shops, etc.
Our house was a 3-4 min. golf cart ride away. All of the houses were precious and the landscaping was so lush. It was picturesque.
Watercolor is right next door to Seaside, which was a perfect place to spend time just walking around; it was filled with tons of restaurants and shops. We stopped by for a mid-afternoon ice cream treat one day.
Good to the last drop!
Heading to buy some loot.
Obligatory silly face pics!
Really just love this town. We are going back in the fall and I wanted to come right back to this area, but the beach club was going to be closed for renovations, so we decided to head back to Rosemary instead.
We had a mini birthday party for Charlie since it was only two weeks away. Had to start with hugs for Harris!CoCo had some precious PJs made for the boys. It was pretty impossible to get them to all smile, but here are a few of the best ones!
We attempted the next morning as well since there was better lighting.
Love, love, love!
Fast forward 24 hours. I got a nasty 24 hour stomach bug which kept me in bed all 24 hours. It was miserable and such a bummer to happen on the trip. Thank goodness, no one else got it. We missed out on an adult night out and Wes was a trooper to take the kids all day to the beach so they didn't suffer. Luckily, by the next morning, I was able to have some fun with the fam.
He literally skid almost above the water and would come all the way up to shore because he is so light. It was hilarious and he loved it!
B had some awesome runs as well.
My surfer dude
Wipeout!
We capped of the last part of the trip with some family pics at Grayton State Park and a late night dinner at Bud & Alley's pizza place. The kids were exhausted, but were troopers anyway!
We headed out the next morning to head home with a car more packed than I had ever seen it. We had originally sent up some stuff with my parents and Scooter but they had rental cars, so we had to lug it back. We donated a stroller to the house, but got everything else home!!It was a really fun trip and loved having the boys make memories with their cousin. Not too bad of a place to enjoy each other either!!
