Lake Forest Awards and City Meet

Summer League swim team wraps up at the end of July with an awards ceremony followed by the big City Meet. The kids always have a blast at the awards dinner acting all crazy and whatnot! They've made such good friends within their little group of swimmers, it's always sad when it comes to an end after spending almost everyday together over the summer.

First up, were the age group awards. B and C both got their medal for 6 and under boys.

Here's most of the 6U Boys Age Group

 Next up, was Ryan's age group - the 7 & 8 boys
Here's the best shot I could get. The lighting was awful!
So proud of this medal. It was his first award for any organized sport, so he was pretty proud of it.

 Lookin good, B!
  Love my little swimmer boys

They award a high point for each age group as well. Ryan won for 7 & 8 boys and was pretty excited!
All of the high point age group winners.
That weekend was their All Star City Meet where all the teams come together to compete one final time for the summer. Gathering up the littles for their first event.
Caught him mid walk to the blocks for his first event.
Prepping for his 25 yard freestyle
Here he is killing it against mainly 6 year olds. Love his determination! He's in Lane 2 from the top.
Here's Ryan's 25 yard free. He placed 3rd overall

 Ryan's backstroke - he's in Lane 2
The 6 & U boys getting ready for their relay
Trying to hone their crazy while they waited!
Ryan swam the 7 & 8 boys freestyle relay then turned around about 5 min later and swam a 50 free in the 9 & 10 boys relay and did awesome!
The next morning was an early one as you can tell by their faces!
The team getting warmed up with some cheers, showing their team spirit.
"Who rocks the block? Lake Forest rocks the block!"

Love this sweet group of kids

Love their moms just as much. Having our annual mimosa toast before the meet began.

Day 2 events included breaststroke and butterfly.
Here's Ryan's 50 free. He's in the middle. It was an exciting race!

It was an awesome meet. Ryan ended up tying for 2nd place in the 7/8 boys high point award. I think B ended up like 5th or 6th overall for 6 and under boys which he was pumped about since he still has next year in that age group. They had all best times the whole meet and it was a blast to watch. My parents ended up coming on the second day which was exciting and fun for the boys. After the meet wrapped up, we headed to the airport to fly to Texas for a few weeks to wrap up a fun-filled summer!
